Subject: Request for Compensation – Extremely Disappointing Stay at Beachside Inn, Santa Barbara (Booked via Expedia)
To Whom It May Concern,
I’m writing to express my extreme disappointment with a recent stay I booked through Expedia at the Beachside Inn in Santa Barbara. My last day there was [insert last day of stay here], and while I generally don’t make a habit of writing complaints, this experience was so off the mark that I feel it absolutely warrants one.
We specifically requested a poolside view room with a beach view. What we were given was not that. Not even close. Instead, we were placed in a room directly in front of the pool, with zero beach view, and right next to a maintenance/service room. This is not a “view”—it’s an intrusion.
Every single morning starting at 8 AM, we were bombarded with the sound of industrial dryers, loud staff chatter (again—not blaming the staff personally), and constant hallway activity. On one afternoon—while trying to enjoy an early dinner in the room—there were extremely loud workers outside my door, seemingly watching a soccer game or having a conversation at full volume. It was so disruptive, it felt like I was staying in the break room, not a hotel.
This was supposed to be a short getaway where I could rest and get a little work done. Instead, I got two days of noise, stress, and zero peace.
