My wife and I found this great little surprise by accident--we had decided to stay another night on the central coast and Cayucos and Cambria were all booked up. Headed north and searched San Simean hotels and this one popped up--with one room left. We reserved it online and arrived about ten minutes later. We were very pleasantly surprised by the very cute, (we believe) recently renovated Roadhouse. Check in was easy and service was quite friendly and accomodating. Our king bed room was absolutely huge! I've been in much more expensive suites that were not as large. Refrigerator, TWO microwaves, a nice futon, chairs, large TV...would be a great room for a traveling family with kids. The room was spotless and the bed quite comfortable. Simply could not ask for more. We will definitely return as we now have a nice little "secret" place to stay away from the noise and bustle of those better-known towns further south.

Was never told I had to move through a construction site. It was my lady’s birthday and I planned for weeks to be there and she tripped in the darkness over drywall and trash in parking lot. No one was even trying to help accommodate the inconvenience.

Worst stay ever,The hotel looks like a cheaply done remodel, the water pressure was like someone peeing on you, the house phone was broken, pillows for a king size bed were the size of a postage stamp, you could make out every word the guest next door was saying and the constant creaking of the ceiling from the guest above you , horrible experience.

Our kids found two razor blades on the balcony. Luckily, no one was hurt. They need to be more thorough inspecting the balconies before letting guests in.

The property is being updated and that's the good news. The biggest issue for me was the fact that we came to the hotel our room was not ready. It was after 5 pm. We uav kids and we are tired. To make things worse we were sent to the second floor three times with different keys just to find out that different rooms were not ready. The nail in the coffin was no remorse. No "sorry". No "we apologize" and no " how can we make it better"

Very convenient for a visit to Hearst Castle. The property has obviously had a recent renovation (there was a big pile of debris in the parking lot) - but it was kind of DIY. We could not figure out how to turn on any light in the bathroom area - I think they had removed any fixture there. Fine for one night.

It was HORRIBLE!! The room was dirty! The floor and the bed was not clean!!! The service was terrible. They yelled at us for calling at night and didn’t want to help. They changed the sheets only after we said we will not sleep like that. We were so mad we didn’t even had breakfast there.

We stopped here en route from San Francisco to LA. Overall for one night then place was fine. Most of the issues with this place were cosmetic and nothing some paint couldn't fix. The doors into the room and onto the balcony both didn't close properly so it was noisy at night. Overall a decent enough place to stop for a night but probably wouldn't stay any longer

Undergoing substandard renovation. Dumpsite for building tear out at corner of property two stories high. No remote for tv, light over bathroom sink wasn’t functioning. Old linens, minimal toiletries and breakfast is just cereal and yogurt. Heating unit gave off toxic fumes so we were cold at night. Stay somewhere else if you can. Housekeeping staff was a redeeming quality!

The shutters were very dusty, property wasn’t that bad but we have some loud noises in the middle of the night police came, I don’t mean that is the hotels fault but is what happened and we couldn’t sleep. The breakfast didn’t have a good variety it was very limited.

The patio had dirty chairs. They chose to place a whole bunch of construction trash in front of my unit. A couple was shouting on the hallway for about an hr and no one from administration showed up in the middle of the night

Outside the building was a pile of drywall wood trash and their office was under construction. I had an emergency I had to cancel my trip they would not refund me.
