Great Place

This is a great hotel in a great area. Pillows this time around were super soft, too soft. It was almost like having a pillow. Last time we stayed, a few months ago, pillows were great. But other than that super minor inconvenience, great place to stay. Looking forward to visiting again.

The room was great. It was spacious and somewhat luxurious. There was major construction in the lobby and the adjoining restaurant. It was closed. This hotel has a lot of character and is unique.

We have stayed at the Carlton many times and we really enjoy it. This time it was a little different because they’re doing a renovation of the downstairs including their lobby area so things were not as clean and tidy as they usually are but we will be back because we love the place.

We have stayed at this hotel twice before and loved it both times. The last time was a few years ago and it has not been maintained very well. Apparently Marriott just bought them and when we arrived, the entire lobby was masked off. There was no restaurant and the first two rooms we saw had filthy carpet

Weekend getaway

The Carlton is an icon old hotel with some beautiful charm. Unfortunately, it needs refurbishing. Smelled damp amd musty, walls marked, and dirty. Our room the bathroom lights didnt work, missong curtains on the window. Sadly, the refrigerator was moldy, no shelving and the light blinking completely unusable. We were counting on being able to have a working refrigerator in the room.

Room was satisfactory but not exceptional as I would expect from an upper end hotel. Toilet is old school, not comfort height, and flushing mechanism needs service or toilet runs constantly. Bath sink needs to be snaked as does not drain properly, fills while brushing teeth and takes a very long time to finally drain. Shower head needs to be cleaned/serviced as spray is all over the place. Carpets are dirty and need a good shampooing or replacement. Service charge for a bottle of water is outrageous and at room price should at minimum be free for the first couple bottles and/ or available at a vending machine for a reasonable price. As weather was inclement, rain/cool, the heating system appeared to be minimal if working at all.

Beautiful!

We loved it! The hotel is beautiful not to mention the room!! The rooms are spacious, clean, well stocked (water, coffee, wine-for a few, coffee is free) We had double doors to a very cute courtyard. Only thing I wasn't happy about was that their website states they have a restaurant, and it's no longer open. It wasn't a deal breaker tho, there are several restaurants near by. We'll definitely stay there again!

A Nice Change

I've stayed here 2 or 3 times. I like to stay here when I want to stay at a nicer place. It's near the city hall, which has a big park. The room was very nice, but we couldn't find the remote for the TV. Didn't matter to us that much so we didn't call the front desk.

Beautiful hotel in Atascadero downtown

The hotel is beautiful, right at downtown Atascadero and is very clean. The reason for our visit was the sensorio park, which is a little far (Paso Robles is closer). I’d definitely recommend the hotel the staff was very helpful!
