Dreamcatcher, aptly named

Very beautiful and lush boutique hotel. Open air concept for the majority of the grounds, bed was in an enclosed room with AC that kept it very cool for some relief if you get sun drained but large windows to still feel like you are outdoors. Romantic Suite had 2 showers and a large concrete soaking tub, while large and deep- it could use an amenity like a small bath pillow to give some comfort. No complaints whatsoever with our stay, I am not vegan but their kitchen made me reconsider becoming one, great food and a daily selection of snacks and small bites available that are prepared fresh each morning at a reasonable cost. Service was 9/10, I would say my only note was housekeeping only visited our room once on the first evening over a 3 night stay, but every common area of the hotel was extremely well maintained and the cleanliness upon arrival was 10/10 so not necessarily required to have daily visits, just a personal preference. Area is in a gated neighborhood with security guards, very walkable, beach is a 3 min walk and towels/beach chairs are provided by the hotel. Shout out to Miguel who had a great touch of warmth and kindness with each interaction. Absolutely would stay again upon return to San Juan, eclectic and very aesthetically pleasing place to visit.

We had an amazing stay at the Dreamcatcher. The property is beautiful and safe (gated community) & the staff and service are excellent. Beach is less than a 5 minute walk and it is beautiful and so quiet. Lots of local restaurants and coffee shops nearby if the vegan/vegetarian breakfast & brunch options offered at Dreamcatcher are not your preferred options :) All in all - beautiful facility, very friendly staff, great nearby area.

This is my favorite spot in San Juan. I call it a zen retreat. Every room is different. With outdoor indoor living. Showers and tubs outdoors with room with patios. Inside the rooms are individually decorated and charming. The staff is incredible and Jacob will take good care of you as will all the staff. Just recently a plunge pool was added and a renovation has taken the space up a notch. The beach is a three minute walk away as are a variety of food options and even Walgreens. The street and neighborhood is in Ocean Park a gated community surrounded by picturesque homes. There’s vegan food prepared on premises. I can’t say enough about Dreamcatcher. I have been 4 times now and look forward to the next time I visit my favorite vibe in San Juan

Beware of construction

The concept of the hotel is great. The room was small-ish, but clean with a balcony with a tub. We arrived in the night and were awaken by drilling and banging. They were doing construction in the room directly across from our room and on the balcony of that room as well. The noise was so loud and disruptive from a little before 8 AM to after 6 PM. It’s really unfortunate that the hotel knew they were going to be doing construction and decided to put guests directly across from where they were doing the construction. This ruined our stay. The power went out but they had a backup generator. As guests situated directly across from the room in which they were doing construction, we were not notified of any construction, we weren’t offered a different room. I had to complain several times before we were offered. They then offered to put us in a smaller room that was directly at the front of the establishment. We had plans and were in a time crunch and had to leave, our transportation outside, and were unable to see a room when offered. We ended up staying in the same room until the end of our stay. The last full day the chef, who made brunch from 8 to 1 PM, was not there. We received an email notification about this a few minutes before the brunch was supposed to start. The staff was friendly, not the owner so much. It would have been a lovely stay w/o these issues.

Our second time here. Still as amazing. All staff so friendly and helpful. They helped us set up a rainforest trip (with Geo) highly recommend and an amazing massage with Rhiannon (again, highly recommend). I can’t say enough about the staff they are just the best. The hotel is an oasis located close to the beach. Borrow a chair and a quick walk around the corner to a beach day. Our room this time had an outdoor bathroom! Our bedroom separate with kick arse air conditioner. Only one spoiler - the day we left the owner berating the staff with us sitting close. No staff should be talked to this way especially with guests listening! One thing to note here too is the clean rooms! So nice. Thank you!

Nice location and cool vibe

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to Puerto Rico. Room 22 was a bit dark and cavelike, but we loved the “outdoor” shower! Room 5 was bigger and brighter, but the “shower” was in a claw foot tub that was scary to enter and exit. A grab bar is needed. We enjoyed the neighborhood, but the property is a challenge to find, since gps directs you to locked up gates. The grounds are lovely and the vibe is cool.

This hotel poses as a calm sanctuary but there was construction and noise for the most part of each day. Staff was nice but they should have communicated that construction was ongoing and I would have never booked this hotel. Could have been a one off but if you are looking to get the actual relaxed feeling to match the ambiance of the hotel-go somewhere else.

It must be a wonderfully peaceful place when there is no construction going on. If I knew about the construction i would have chosen my other option, as the workers often carried on past 18:20.
