The major snags were we could not get into our room until 90 min after the check in time which was a drag. There was a very loud party going on in the restaurant which did not help make it more relaxing. The room was nice. The food was ok, definitely would recommend eating outside the hotel although the second floor bar had really nice views.

Unfortunately, the Hotel Rumbao was a much less than satisfactory experience for us. Why? Let me list the reasons: 1) There are only 2 guest elevators for the entire hotel…and one was out of service not only during our entire stay, but apparently for quite some time before according to a returning guest. The single elevator situation created all kinds of problems. Checkout time was a nightmare. We waited through 5 arrivals on our floor before we could get on. 2) Our room was long and narrow, with the television mounted on a long wall such that it basically couldn’t be viewed from the bed. Even worse, it was completely fixed i.e. not on any sort of swing arm. 3) Housekeeping never showed up. The silly ‘request bar’ by which you ask for housekeeping is totally unclear. 4) The coffee maker was jammed with a pod from a prior guest. I stained my clothes trying to get the thing out. I did finally succeed. 5) The room was distinctly musty smelling. 6) Kueros restaurant - mediocre food with even more mediocre service. We practically had to beg for glasses of water. So, were there any bright spots? Well, the bed was decent and the shower was excellent. That’s about it. While Hotel Rumbao is extremely convenient for the port, I would studiously avoid based on our experience. Marriott out to be ashamed of this level of performance.

Convenient to everything!
Great hotel. Very beautiful and comfortable. Perfect location for shopping, sightseeing and restaurants. If you’re sailing out of San Juan it’s so convenient to just walk across the street to the ship. Will definitely come back here.

There is such a loud buzzing in the room and the front desk won’t do anything about it. I also saw a cockroach running around so I killed it. Front desk said they could come get it if I wanted it removed, but wouldn’t give me a new room. Nobody cares. I had to call multiple times for them to even tell me they weren’t gonna do anything. I’ve been waiting for about a half hour to even get any response. They simply don’t care. Stay away!

Everything was great! The rooms were in excellent condition, especially the bathrooms. We really loved the location! The staff was helpful and happily stored our luggage until our room was ready. We definitely plan to stay here when we visit Puerto Rico again! The only (small) negatives were that our tv didn’t function properly (randomly turned off) but we barely used it anyway. The second elevator was under renovation, so we had to wait quite some time for the single elevator and it was overly busy on the day we checked out.

This hotel boasts a convenient location and an array of excellent restaurants in the vicinity. You also have the option to dine at their own restaurant, Kurtis. I highly recommend this place.
