This hotel was in the perfect spot to be a walkable distance from everything in the city. The room was perfect for our group size and the balcony was such a nice plus.

I’m going to preface this with I visited in early Sept, during a week where the Ubers were all saying it was quieter than normal. That said, I thought the property was very quiet, the bed was insanely comfortable and it was very convenient and walkable to all nearby attractions. It’s a traditional Spainish style building with interior doors/courtyard feel and no exterior windows. The AC worked well and staff was nice. A few oddities- there’s a ton of signage around the room and hotel outlining fees for every item that can be broken in the rooms and how much you’ll be charged. Felt harsh and made me wonder if it’s often a rough drunken crowd that stays here if they have this big of an issue with it? Also, the shower was barely working. I’ve honestly never had such a tiny trickle of water in my life. I ended up having to wash my hair in the sink because I was in a hurry and didn’t have 45 mins for the 3 drops of water to clean the shampoo out.

I enjoyed staying at Fortaleza Suites. It’s in such a convenient location. Rooms are pretty small, but considering you don’t spend too much time in the room with the many things you can find yourself doing in PR, it’s great! Only unfortunate thing is that you can hear everything going on in the hallway.

Like that the location was perfect being in the heart of old San Juan. The room itself was loud, pipes across the ceiling dripped all over the room, uneven floors throughout and the bed was as hard as a rock.

Negatives: Room smelled like humid, towels don’t look clean or new, comforter looked burned or stain on it, they have a list of every single charge for damages that could happen and that’s unprofessional, they need better curtains that gives you more privacy and block the light from outside. Positives: We love the shared kitchen where you can fix your own coffee or/hot chocolate. Very safe place and clean at the lobby and hallways.

We loved staying here. Our room was TINY TINY and no closet to put your clothes away or hideaway the suitcases so they don’t take space away. Bathroom was big and spacious. Bed was comfortable. Staff was amazing too really good care of us. Let us drop off the suitcases earlier we got there and also leaving it for the day our ship was leaving late. It was close it everything in VSJ. I would book again but ask for a bigger room. There were bigger ones. But ours was tiny.
