Centrally located

The hotel is located in a great area of Old Town. It has a lovely staff and big clean rooms. The only issue is the street noise, especially on the weekend.

We loved staying in Old San Juan! The history is amazing and the whole area feels so unique! Decanter Hotel was an awesome location to explore OSJ and our room was spacious! There is some street noise, but that is to be expected when staying in the city! A very neat old building but everything was functional! We had drinks on the rooftop and enjoyed the beautiful view of the old cathedral. Unfortunately the rooftop bar was not open while we were there but we still got to use the space, which was great!

Great location

Great location of a boutique hotel. Comfortable rooms. A chair to sit in would be appreciated. Also, the desk staff, though friendly, were not very helpful in answering questions.

Great location.

Nice big room. Friendly staff… although they didn’t seem to know much about the area. Very clean. Unfortunately the bar and breakfast are only available on weekends. Great central location.

The hotel's location is perfect for walking around Old San Juan. It's on a quiet street across from a church and, for an unknown reason, there was a police car stationed next to the hotel - so we felt very safe. There was free coffee each morning in the lobby and many little restaurants nearby. The old city walls/ocean are only a couple of blocks away. Our suite was comfortable for us - we had two in the Queen bed and two on the sofa bed, which was surprisingly comfortable. The kitchen was not stocked well but we used the microwave and fridge. We had a fun night at their rooftop bar. The servers there were SO nice and there was a good vibe. We got wonderful advice from two of the front desk staff. However, the woman who checked us in was unwelcoming and unhelpful. Luckily she was off duty after our first day's checkin. Overall, we recommend Decanter!

Great pre-cruise stay.

Lovely historic property, walkable to the port in Old Town San Juan. Honored my Platinum status with an enjoyable bottle of wine (our choice between white and red). Housekeeping gave us extra coffee for the coffee maker and there is a nice espresso machine in the lobby available in the morning and again in the afternoon. The hotel messaged us with important parking info, which didn't apply since we did not have a car, but would have been a great heads up if we'd rented one. Staff was unfailingly pleasant. Would stay again.

At the heart of San Juan. My kids loved the pigeon park that is just few minutes walking distance away. Lots of great food near the hotel. We stayed during a weekend, the area can be a bit noisy after midnight, I was woken up 2am by groups of people shouting in the hall way. Regardless, the hotel is a wonderful.
