We had a fantastic stay at The Chancellor Hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome—everyone we encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to help. The hotel has a cozy charm that really sets it apart, with lovely vintage touches that add character without sacrificing comfort. It felt like a step back in time in the best way possible. We’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, memorable experience in a unique setting.

What a great historic hotel!! With the trolly line right outside, shopping near by, china town a few blocks walk away, so many dinning options of many varieties available. You can ride the trolly right to the waterfront pier 29, and fisherman’s ward as well as little Italy. The hotel itself was clean and well kept, especially for its age! Gotta love the history an old hotel has! Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a suite with 2 full bathrooms. The tubs we so big I may have taken 3 baths a day to soak my tired muscles from all the walking we did!:)

I was in town for a conference at the Westin nearby, but the cost of hotel rooms there was much too high, so I stayed a mere half a block away at the Chancellor and had a good place to stay that was quiet, safe, and impeccably clean. The tub was deep, the water was hot, and it was a good place to lay my head. The lack of air conditioning was not an issue given the cool air of spring and the windows opened sufficiently to allow a lovely bit of cooling along with the ceiling fan. No complaints.

Property was fine. Clean. Most staff were friendly and pleasant. Had 1 extremely rude and negative experience with a bartender who was working one night. Didn’t get her name, but I asked if I could get a straw and she said no and yelled at me that she was in the middle of something. Probably won’t come back there unless it’s the only option solely for that reason. Other than that though it’s a fine place.
