The hotel is extremely, wildly noisy on the weekend. It is a totally legitimate choice but it is completely irresponsible not to alert patrons of the situation before their stay. I’d proceed with caution for any weekend, unless you are sure you want to stay up partying or listening to beats and screams, or unless you make sure you have a quiet room. Also, worst pillows we have ever had at a hotel, by far. Just horrific. The staff is uneven and often disinterested in helping. They are more Responsive on text than in person. And, they interact with their own restaurants and spaces on third party platforms, which is bizarre.

It was a beautiful property however we were unable to have seating in front of our room because there wasn’t any and all the other lounge chairs were taken by check in. We did get early check in by 2pm but even with adding names to the room I had to be the one to order things for the room at the front desk. Service time for drinks is long on a Saturday but staff was kind! Loved their in room details but wish we would have been given priority or had lounge chairs in front of our room. It was a corner room so perhaps that was why. The next morning same thing, by 7am all lounge chairs had stuff saving the chair. I will be back but I guess I need to plan accordingly for the pool area!

This was such a unique place. It was like a magical world, i wish i could stay longer. Its definitely a perfect destination for a short getaway trip. Plus, it was already decorated for christmas which i did not expect for my stay. All the stuff were very freindly and helpful, i recommend anyone who enjoys a colorful world.

Hotel was beautiful and definitely a special stay. Loved the decor and design of everything, maximalist in the best way possible. Room is pricy for size and a window with a view of the road - but you’re paying for the environment and the overall charm of the hotel. Room also has interesting and thoughtful touches. Loved breakfast at the diner and laying out at the pool all day!

A nice getaway where you don’t have to leave. From lounging by the pool to the 24 hour diner, you can relax 24/7. If you are interested in the nightlife, they have a lounge bar, The Gutter, and a jazz club, Lou Lou’s. It’s also close to Hillcrest, Balboa Park, Little Italy, and Gaslamp if you want to explore other areas of San Diego.
