Fantastic with the ability to navigate through all variations in customers, in an area where it gets chaotic and very busy. The front desk staff in the morning is a beautiful soul with the ability to be firm and no-bs about rules and policies, but also still humble and caring for the needs of her customers. Her ability to maintain professional demeanor and descernment is honestly respectable. Im hoping that the company appreciates how she is representing them and and reciprocates with appropriate compensation because shes making it happen for.them.

This facility is making an effort to welcome folks on a budget, and the price is right for the area. Front-desk staff is friendly & helpful. Room is clean but spare, w/ fridge but no microwave & only one wastebasket. Trains pass by closely, w/ noisy whistles. Two drawbacks: (1) Electric outlet near the bed doesn't work, so I had to charge my laptop & phone across the room when I really wanted to rest in bed. (2) One vending machine (the one with sandwiches & tortillas) was out of service, so only beverages & light snacks were available onsite.

You are forewarned...

I can only recommend this motel for the service...but off the cuff. My bag was held at the front desk after paying for the room, and placed in an office where children were playing. The property is SWARMED by transients as they speak to themselves by the lobby and all over the parking lot. The hotel room itself was run down with no chair for the table, a mattress that sunk in the middle, bathroom tiles still showed blue inexpensive grout that was used to adhese them, and the furnishings and lighting was out of date and was taken from a warehouse and dropped in each room. Again- Dawn and her staff worked hard against the elements and the drugged transient population on their property and even forwarned me prior to staying. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel to business, leisure travelers and most definitely not due to its haphazard nature to families who want to visit San Diego and explore Old Town. For $4 more a night I could have stayed at the equally swarmed Motel 6 in Downtown San Diego but opted to stay her twice with my guard up due to the size of the rooms and the friendliness of the FD staff.
