I was disappointed. Room was extremely small for the price The a/c wasnt working in some parts of the hotel. It didnt cool enough either if it did work and they didnt tell you that until you checked in. Bed was very uncomfortable.

Pleasant stay, significant construction going on around the Alamo. Hotel has a great history and does an excellent job presenting it's roll in history. Rooms have character as I would expect with a historical hotel. They aren't the cookie cutter designs you see from the large chain hotels.

The Menger Hotel is part of the Historical Hotels of Americas, and as such a very nice place to stay if you love architecture. Some parts of the building are more recent, but there inner decoration of the lobby and the meal halls are definitely worth a visit. It's located at walking distance of River Center Shopping mall and River Walk borderwalk, and just 2 minutes away from Fort Alamo. In-yard pool and garden makes this hotel a quiet place to stay.

There was construction going on, so it was not as easy getting around. the staff, was excellent, the only drawback to the whole facility was tub/shower was to cramp. I am sure it was trying to fit the new into an old hotel. The features of the history of the hotel out weighted and inconvenience.

The Menger would have been really good except for the fact that they infuse their intense trademark perfume throughout the hotel. If you’re into that, you might like it. If not, be warned.

I thought the hotel is awesome from looks and architecture however, it was impossible to maintain water temperatures when taking a shower, the remote for the tv did not work appropriately, and there was mold along the window.

The building is amazing, the bed so comfy. However, the staff for breakfast were the rudest we've encountered in the whole of Texas and at checkout the receptionist took a call when serving me and someone in the back was moaning about a customer who had complained about their room being 'stuffy'. So unprofessional.
