This hotel is amazingly spacious. While other hotels are squeezed into small space, this one is completely: huge rooms, huge halls huge dinning areas. It is also clean, safe and functional. This is not our first visit, and we will visit it again.

Very noisy. Walls seem paper thin. Needs a face lift. Quite pricy for what you got. Wouldn't recommend to stay.

We recently stayed at this hotel, with a party of three rooms, what we encountered was shocking. From the moment we checked in, the issues started piling up, and it became clear that cleanliness, maintenance, and guest comfort were not priorities here. Room #1: * The entry door wouldn’t open properly (the hinges had dropped), forcing us to shove it open every time with considerable effort. A serious hazard if you weren’t expecting it. * A previous guest’s electric razor was left plugged in on the nightstand—clear proof that housekeeping hadn’t done a proper clean. * The hot water kept cutting in and out, making it impossible to have a comfortable shower. Room #2: * Dead bugs on the window sill, which then blew all over one of our party while she was doing her hair. * Unwashed towels—one had a brown, faeces-like substance smeared on it. Absolutely appalling. * No fridge in the room, despite being advertised as an amenity. * Hairs in the shower, further proving the lack of proper cleaning. * On top of all this, she was double charged for the room. Room #3: * The most disgusting issue: a used eye dropper in the bed, which we can only assume means the bedding had not been changed from the previous guest. The lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and basic hygiene standards is appalling. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

The room price was good and I was upgraded to a larger deluxe room with a balcony. The bed was very comfortable. However, the decor was very dated and looks tired, particularly the bathroom. The shower handle was detached although still usable. The main hallway carpets had large stains on them. I believe if the hotel was given a good upgrade and redecorated, this would be a very nice place to stay. I would consider staying again.

Convenient situation, have stayed there several times over past 10yrs. The hotels condition is getting rather tired. Found left over litter & dust behind bedside cabinet when locating a socket outlet and shower curtain was a little mouldy along bottom edge otherwise ok. No tea towel, cutlery & plates in the room The beds are very good, just the right comfort. Good shower water pressure, clean linen & towels, hotel service is friendly. V/good breakfast & service.

Very helpful staff, and gave us an early check in free of charge. The bathroom was quite dirty though and the shower wouldn’t go hot the next morning. Building is a little run down but it was nice enough, and good enough for what we needed.

Arawa hotel is a fine option for the Rotorua area. It is a bit old. The room is very spacious, but most things in the room look relatively old. The restaurant though is very good and very spacious! Staff service (both at lobby front desk and the restaurant) is excellent. There are some restaurants around the area which are good as well.

The property was in great condition. We liked our room which was superior Queen room had two very comfortable queen beds. Bathroom was nice and clean. Room had air conditioning which was the plus point. There was a ceiling fan too. Will recommend to people with young kids as have a lot of space for kids to run around and it was very quiet at night so they can sleep better.
