Argyle Guest House is a short walk from the Rothesay ferry terminal and is one of the closest Hotels to the ferry terminal.Very comfortable and newly decorated rooms and a Large Guest lounge to enjoy breath-taking views over Rothesay Bay. Breakfast is all locally sourced.Free wi-fi in all areas ( Not always a great Signal Strength, due to the Islands Signal from the mainland )Argyle Guest House is pet friendly where we charge £20 per pet, per stay.We would recommend that you take out holiday insurance to cover any loss due to unforeseen cancellation as all reservations are Non-Refundable.Dues to Health & Safety and our Insurance Policy, ONLY people that have paid and booked with us during their stay with us may entire the premises unless with the approval and knowledge of the Owners !!

Friendly welcome on arrival. Host gave good clear instruction on Covid situation. Only fault was we only had an early breakfast time available, however it was superb and very organised.

A hidden gem!!
First of all let me start by telling you, I immediately received an email from Eddie about my arrangements and what establishments were available on the Isle. He gave me suggestions for restaurants and things to see once I arrived. When I arrived, Eddie apologized to me because he had to change my room. He gave me an upgrade so he could accommodate another family. Talking about going the extra mile! Then I met Michael (Mike or Mick), such a pleasure. He will cook your breakfast in the morning and he cooks a true Scottish breakfast. It is delicious and he does not disappoint. The rooms are outstanding for a Bed and Breakfast. This may not be a four star hotel but Eddie and Michael make you feel like you are in one. They treat you how they want to be treated and nothing less. And don’t let me forget the dogs. They are a joy to love on when you are away from your own. Sit down and pet them, it therapeutic. Eddie and Michael are very busy running their Bed and Breakfast, but they take the time to sit and talk to you and ensure you are enjoying not only your stay with them, but you are enjoying the Isle of Bute as well. Third story renovations are under way this winter and they are expanding so they can accommodate more visitors. I personally can’t wait to see what they do with the third floor. If you stay anywhere on the Isle of Bute, this is the place to stay!!

Nicely renovated BNB , with lovely outlook across harbour, easy walk to center dinner etc. Compact comfortable room and ensuite Great cooked breakfast to order included. On street parking .
