Beautiful building. Wonderful staff. Location was perfect for walking to most tourist attractions. Near two great coffees shops for early morning cappuccinos.

Overall a good choice. Pros: Air Conditioning, a lot of hotels don't have it and even in February was nice to have. Staff: Very friendly, when using Concierge through Whatsapp they responded right away. Was afraid without staff on premise how quickly they would assits, but never an issue with the Concierge service they have with Whatsapp. Quiet area right off an Alley. Very good location, walkable to Vatican, food, and Hop on Hop off bus stop a few blocks away. Cons: Shower was small and didn't drain right. Front steps went right into Alley and cars/scooters come down alley so had to be careful when stepping out of hotel. Overall a good choice as comfort and location were the most important to us and that A/C was a blessing.

We had an appointment to check in at 4:30pm. At 4:30pm, the door was locked. I rang the bell three times and no one answered. I stood in the cold rain outside the door and no one was there at the agreed upon appointed time.

We enjoyed our stay at Palazzo Medusa. The staff were very attentive. We were locked out of our room one evening and someone came quickly to assist us. We were able to walk easily to all of the places we wanted to see. Lots of restaurants and shops close by.

The hotel has a very nice design. The staff was very kind and more than willing to help us out. They offered transportation to and from the hotel, but with a fee. We did not use that service instead we used the bus transportation system by getting a 48-hour bus ticket which allowed us to use the buses wherever we want in those 48 hours. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at Palazzo Medusa.

For the price , not at all worth it. Highest price paid and yet not even a capacino machine! No staff on site after about 11:30 am. Thought this was a hotel, not a hostel Even silly things like multiple TV remotes and two of three would operate certain things. Hotel even unable to get a taxi I think the mgmt lost their passion of operating a hotel - more like accountants , not professional hoteliers.

Small Building

Palazzo Medusa is a nice little building located near a lot of the touristy areas of Rome. The location is great. The hotel itself is very small and cramped. The room that we stayed in was quite small and had one small window. The curtains over the window got stuck whenever they tried to be open. The room was very cramp and I am very happy we only stayed for one night. With two suit cases the space became even smaller. With all this being said, it was a clean and well decorated room. I would recommend it for those traveling lightly and by themselves.

Lovely stay! I used to live in the area, and coming back to see friends, this was a great base. The building is tastefully decorated and it’s clear the proprietor pays attention to detail. It is a classic historical central Rome building with wood panelling ceilings and original tiled floors - my favourite kind. Features including a kettle, tea, coffee, water and fully stocked mini-bar are not overlooked. Good quality sheets and towels and complimentary toiletries are not always expected in 3* establishments. The concierge service is efficient and prompt. The hotel also offers additional services including transfers and tours. If you want an authentic Roman experience, at a reasonable price, I highly recommend a stay here. Thanks to all at Palazzo Medusa!

budget Rome

Great location from which to walk or cab to all of the top spots in Rome. Average 15 Euro to most anywhere, or you can walk there in 20 minutes or less. Room soundproofing isn't great, but okay unless you are a very light sleeper. Lots of places to eat and shop within a block or two. Make sure you have cell phone that works in Europe or you may have trouble checking in. Building front door is always locked and door intercom doesn't work well. You have to call the staff to get in. Be sure you have the number.

This was one of my favorite stays for our trip through Italy. The neighborhood was very quiet, yet it’s very convenient for the bus stop, taxis, and the best restaurants nearby. Valentina was lovely at check-in. What a lovely hotel.

Matthew was excellent with check in and check out. He was helpful with recommendations for tours, transportation and dining. The property is very dark inside the rooms. I found it hard to do makeup in the low light. Free bottled water is provided daily which was a nice touch.
