So at first I have to say I was disappointed to the point I contacted Expedia to get a refund and switch hotels. Why? The room had a very strong smell of mold and the bathroom smelled like sewage whenever we used the sink. Opening the window meant listening to all the noise outside (mostly from the restaurant) Since a refund was denied by the hotel, we had to stay since I was not willing to waste the money I had paid for the 3 nights I planned to stay. The hotel was okay after all. I must say the front desk staff was great!! Breakfast was good as well. The things I did not like was the smell, and it was very noisy outside at night, since they have a restaurant in the lobby with outdoor seating. But it would die down at around 9:30pm. Cleanliness was great, staff was great, and location was great!! We were able to walk almost everywhere.

Lovely, friendly hotel

We spent five nights in this hotel. The staff were all fantastic and very helpful. Communication was excellent from when we booked till when we left. Room was clean, bed comfortable, maid cleaned every day. Breakfast brought to room every morning. Staff always smiling. Hotel within easy walking distance of all the sights. Nearby bars and restaurants. We feel it was great value for money.

Sofia at check-in was great. She kept in touch by whatsapp prior to our arrival and made the check-in process seamless. The room was spotless, the beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast, especially the croissants... It had a small patio that was quaint but looked out to another building.. if you're staying longer than overnight, perhaps request one of rooms with a front view. The property was a safe and comfortable 10 min walk from the train station..we had back packs...but a small pull along would be ok as there are side walks. It was an easy walk to most of the historic sites and food..the Vatican was a bit further. We didnt have time to get there ...so you may need a bus Lots of food choices around and we felt safe walking back from the restaurant after dinner at 9.30pm. Overall a pleasant stay.

Great place to stay in Rome

Fantastic location. 15/20mins walk to famous sights except the Vatican which is an hour walk away. However we used the hop on hop off bus to get there and back which worked really well. Easy to find on arrival having walked for about 10mins from train station. All staff were very helpful, polite and cheerful. We were given good advice for bars and eating places nearby.couldn’t fault it and would definitely book again if in Rome.

Cannot fault this hotel!

Stayed here with a friend for a long weekend in Rome and can’t fault the hotel! Location was brilliant, and only a short walk away from the metro, shops and restaurants. The room was fairly basic however had everything we needed, including a sheltered balcony which was lovely to sit out on in the mornings and evenings. The host showed amazing customer service, responding to any queries or requests we had in a kind and considerate manner. We will most definitely return to this establishment when we come back to Rome in the future!!

Needs some work.

The building could use some work and better directions to access. Sewer smell in bathroom was unpleasant. No shampoo, conditioner or wash clothes. Breakfast was undesirable for an Italian breakfast and was prepackaged. Staff was wonderful.

Fantastic spot

Great location with plenty of transport options. Lovely authentic feel to building, not modern which adds to the feel of being Rome. Staff were extremely friendly and incredibly helpful.

The staff was very friendly, the room was large and good for our needs (Family Room, Terrace), and the breakfast was suitable (croissant/bread and yogurt with orange juice and coffee). Our only complaint was the room temperature. We visited in September when the air conditioning needed to be turned on. The thermostat showed 17, but it felt more like 23.

First time staying in Rome! Locanda al Viminale was such an amazing stay. The breakfast and choice of beverage in the morning we always looked forward too. Erica and Giorgia were so helpful all steps of the way. Felt very safe as you needed to get past 3 doors with keys and passcode to get to your room door. Trevi fountain is so close walked there almost everyday to get to everywhere. Perfect location!
