Many stays at Kahler
Room has been updated but not completely. Bathroom tub had very dated faucets and mixing was all but impossible, either very cold or very hot. Dangerous for seniors visiting Mayo Clinic. Room was very cold when we entered the room and even with the thermostat set at its highest level remained uncomfortable.

Its proximetry to Mayo Clinic by underground walking path is definitely a big advantage. Great dining options in and near hotel. Nice gym.

I would say that the word GRAND is used in a more nostalgic way and not that the hotel is grand. There is a way to keep a certain vibe, but the way it's done is just old and needs to be updated. The rooms are super small. You can barely get in the bathroom and shut the door. Parking stalls in the ramp are so close together that you can't get in or out of your car. When I went up to my first room, I found the door opened. the woman at the front desk was very understanding and told me that she didn't want me to stay in that room and I thank her for that. but the 2nd room had the bath tub filled which was strange.

Hotel did a terrible job on cleaning. Was there for 4 days and wasn’t cleaned very good. Left dirty dishes in the room after they supposedly cleaned. Wouldn’t go back there.

The lighting in the room was terrible. Only 2 small lamps in the room, not even bright enough to read by. No ceiling lights when you come into the room so you could not see anything near the closet area. Showers, etc very outdated. The shower head was so low that you had to duck down to use it. A lot of dust in the vent above the toilet. Rather disgusting. Loved the convenience of being right across the street from Mayo but otherwise rather disappointing.
