We wish we could give the staff more than 5 stars, truly some of the best hospitality we’ve ever experienced. On more than one occasion, they went above and beyond their normal duties to make sure we were taken care of. When my wife became ill the night before our departure and all the luggage carts were in use, a staff member (Christine) personally helped us move our bags without hesitation. It was an act of kindness we won’t forget.
The bar and restaurant staff were equally incredible; they were warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Steph and Brittney treated us like friends, not just customers, and made every meal feel like a relaxing, personal experience. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, but it’s the people who made our stay exceptional. We’re incredibly grateful and would absolutely stay here again.
This is the second time staying at this hotel. The room was bigger this time on the corner and clean. Unfortunately the view was a homeless shelter where people are in and out all night. A positive about this hotel is the aesthetic is very nice and the two bartenders we had in the lobby bar were exceptional!! Service that I wasn’t as pleased about was the front lobby staff. Although they were nice, every time we approached the desk they continued to talk to other coworkers even after making eye contact with us.. making us wait for a good few minutes every time. It’s an unusual amount of time to wait considering there aren’t many hotel guests around to help so you would think greeting us would be priority. It was a bit off putting but overall I had a comfortable stay at the liberty trust.
Beautifully renovated hotel. Love the rooms and dining/bar area. Front of house staff was greatly improved on this visit! Easy parking and very convenient. Would stay again.
Tastefully modernized and upgraded while keeping the marble as well as the copper doors throughout the hotel. The molten brown toiletries add an element of quality and indulgence. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bar tender was also great. Wonderful historic hotel. The views were also beautiful.
We usually stay here on our way to and from PA to break up the trip. The hotel's history is interesting (old bank building), the rooms are great, beds are comfortable, and the staff is super friendly!
Being greeted by staff on my first visit with The Liberty Trust was amazing and they remembered me and answered all questions and helped with several issues...and bringing my luggage out on department also meant a lot!!! Bravo staff and thanks!!!! Kak
The hotel is a beautiful old bank. The staff I great. Location and rooms are very good. Here is the issue. We were there on a Saturday and they are right next to a night club. We could hear music, specifically bass, until 1 in the morning. No ear plugs could help. We were on the 4th floor. Maybe the other side of the hotel would have been quieter. Without the music, it would have been 5 out of 5. Maybe non weekends have no night club activities.
Our stay at The Liberty Trust last night was our first, but it certainly won’t be our last. This charming boutique hotel in downtown Roanoke exceeded our expectations with its spotless accommodations and inviting atmosphere.
From the warm welcome at check-in with Patty, to helpful directions and door assistance from Sky, and excellent service from our bartender, Benjamin, every interaction enhanced our experience.
Our corner room was spacious, quiet, and exceptionally comfortable. The bed, complete with fluffy pillows, made for a restful night’s sleep, and the walk-in shower was one of the best I’ve ever used.
Parking was a breeze—just a block away in a garage that cost only $8 for 24 hours. We also received a complimentary chef’s choice bite, which turned out to be a delicious surprise: fresh watermelon squares topped with goat cheese and a balsamic glaze.
We enjoyed a lovely view of the city and appreciated how peaceful the room was, with no street noise at all. What truly stood out was how the hotel preserved the historic charm of the early 1900s bank building while seamlessly incorporating modern comforts.
Well.. the hotel and staff were great but the area around the hotel attracted unhoused folks who were load and fought from 10 pm to 2 pm when something broke up the melee. We called the fron desk at midnight and complained as it was impissible to sleep with the loud voices and profanity. The next day we were told by the front desk it was unusual, but if it happened once it could happen again. Also the elevator in the patking garage was out requiring guests to climb 4 flights of stairs to access their vehicle. Again a contract garage, but still a problem.
I came into Roanoke for one night as I prepared to resume a thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. Frankly, I chose the hotel because of its proximity to the railroad station. I was, however, pleasantly surprised and impressed with the quality of The Liberty Trust.
