O have used the Rio Othon Palace many, many times. The hotel has done a great renovation of its lobby, lobby bar lounge, pool area and roof terrace. Excellent views, and aesthetics. Just wonderful, however, I stayed in room 1213 oceanfront, great view but it had a water pipe water marking in the bathroom which I can only bla.e for lack of attention by their facilities management. Otherwise excellent!

Horrible room + breakfast but very nice views
Only a few positives but worth noting: location is great, the view on the beach is amazing and the rooftop is very good On the negative, this is not a 4-star hotel. I read in other comments that it was run-down and somewhat dirty but I didn’t expect it to be that bad! The room was very old, carpet was dirty and smelly, bed sheets and mostly towels were dirty and stained. Clearly the room has never been renovated since it opened. The AC was very loud and the windows didn’t close, you could hear everything from outside. There was an awful continuous noise when turning on the lights in the bathroom. At some point we didn’t have any water running. They do not offer slippers, you have to pay for them. WiFi is quite bad and is in and out Breakfast was horrible! Very cheap, they do not even clean the tables in between clients. We go there, stayed 5 minutes then ran away (fortunately there’s a very nice cafe that does great pastries not too far - Cafe Ao Leu) In summary, this is absolutely not worth the price but if you don’t care about the room and breakfast and you only want very nice views then that’ll do.

The hotel was great in a great place. The staff was great and friendly. The only thing i would say to the hotels is change out old beds and carpet in rooms.

I had an Ocean view room and it was spectacular. It’s a very convenient hotel if you want to do tours either through the hotel or operators do daily pickups there. The Location right on Copacabana Beach is very convenient. It’s a great place to stay in Rio.

This is NOT a 4 stars standards Doesn’t look at all like on the pictures. So old. So outdated. Mold, rust, stains, dirt, unsanitary conditions, everything so old that all the plastics turned yellow. Poor quality breakfast. Checkin/checkout taking AGES (40min for the checkin) and one very arrogant lady at the reception. Very slow wifi. No plug near the bed. Also the pool area doesn’t open until 9am so it’s impossible to see the sunrise from there (like on the pictures). AND the pool was in maintenance my whole stay without previous notice. Walk your way from this terrible place!

Our balcony view of the beach was incredible! We had an issue with the AC in our original room but staff moved us to an equally lovely room in a timely fashion. VIP breakfast was a definite plus

Amazing view of Cococabana beach and the strip but the room had a few defects - leak in the bathroom, runner on wardrobe wasn't working. There was also major renovations underway from 8am every day which we weren't told about so when in the room during the day there was constant drilling and hammering. Reception staff weren't bothered when we mentioned it.

Great place, friendly staff, rooftop bar and pool are fantastic, as is the restaurant at the beach. Breakfast buffet is also good quality and the view is fantastic. Room was clean and comfortable with a fridge and a safe. No microwave.

Perfect location right on Copacabana beach. Doors within the room slide open so you hear the noise constant all through the night. Paid for a beachside superior room and it’s pretty much the same as a standard room so wish I didn’t waste the money. Luggage was lost for 5 days within my connecting flight and concierge were a great help - the reception staff not so much. Overall a pleasant stay but would say this is a 3* at most due to the property being very outdated within the bedrooms.
