Sketchy neighborhood but FABULOUS hotel. It was modern, clean and great breakfast. Room and bathroom were nicely sized. Beware it is located on a very busy and loud street. Long line at check-in but the one woman on duty was a real pro.
Everything is ok. The location is a bit far from Metro Station, about 15 to 20mins walk.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Overall the property was ok. Location was convenient with supermarket and cheap food available close by. But looked a bit unsafe especially in the night. when we landed in the night the corridor carpet was stinking - though it did improve after cleaning next day. The rooms are decently sized but the lift can only accommodate 2 at a time and my kids could not open their windows with AC fixed behind. The breakfast was average and exactly the same for all 6 days of our stay. There were fruit flies on the not too fresh fruit and one day I found a small cockroach on my plate.
The swimming pool looked clean though small and though we didn't use it. The fitness centre also looked small but functional.
Kudos for their renovating and keeping a historical building in downtown Rio. Nice jobe, rooms are very pleasing at least the ones facing the street which have some interesting view to Santa Tereza Hill. There are some facing the inside of the building meaning no light if in lower floor especially. Breakfast was good with all the staples you'd expect including nice granola and your must have tropical papaya and American style scramble pretty decent one by the way. I like the location very much having been to Rio plenty I find it refreshing being in a neighborhood with mostly locals and of the non pretentious kind. Plenty of botecos, bars, make sure you try the rotisserie chicken platter across the street one block to the left at the Cazota Bar, one of the best ever! To the right make first left for Dom Galeto for the best pork ribs I've had all in the best laid back rio style without the frenzy of the Zona Sul
Super decent for the price ! Great guy working in restaurant . Beautiful old building. We were happy to Gabe booked this hotel. Great value. good neighborhood. Cute pool and sauna too.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Really good, but not the area
The area is dangerous to stay is better copacabana hotels.
A basic room in a central location. Room has a fridge and safe. Perfect for getting out and about. Breakfast ok. Nothing elaborate but the basics are there. Beds not especially comfortable but as value goes this is decent and area felt safe.
