We traveled to Richmond for Christmas and picked the Berkeley for uniqueness & location. We were very pleased with the accommodations. The staff was OK, but not extremely accommodating. The listing on Expedia advertised Free Parking, however, valet was $32/nt and self-parking was $15-25 depending on the parking deck. 2 hr free parking is available around the hotel, but that's not what I consider free parking. We spent over $100 on parking during the 4 nights we were there. It was also a disappointing that complimentary coffee was only available during the AM and not throughout the day, as we opted to sleep late for our holiday. We were also informed at check-in that our room would be cleaned after our 4-night stay, but to call the front desk if we needed anything. We made do with what we had, as there were rarely cleaning carts on our floor. Overall, great location & nice property. Staff could have been more customer-friendly. Valet staff was very personable.
