The breakfast was very good, clean and good service. We had one issue with our room the first night, but all was settled. Staff were accommodating.

After I hauled my suitcase up the stairs by myself, because the night clerk who looked like he had grown out his goatee for the last 20 years was unhelpful and almost smiled when he said there was no elevator. My room had an overpowering odour, like someone sprayed a strong scent to mask another odour to make the room “smell clean”. The smell burned my nostrils for hours. The pillows are way too soft and the bed too hard. Will never there stay again.

The hotel could use an update; carpets are old and could use an update as well as the toilet. The wash clothes in the bathroom looked like they were dirty but the towels were OK. The couch (pull out?) should be replaced. Breakfast was your normal self serve set up (one of the waffle makers was out of order) and the only fruit available was apples. The area was very quiet in spite of being close to a major traffic area (Victoria Avenue).

Staff were very friendly and nice. The room needs more cleaning. There was hair in the sink, tub and on the floor. Bathroom would really be much better if they spent more time to clean. Mirror had a hand print on it as well. There was a smell in the room as well.
