It was fine. Nothing spectacular but we just needed a place to sleep. There was a dirty wipe behind the bathroom door. Also, no elevator and under renovation so we had to drag all of our luggage up the stairs. That was the worst. Breakfast was mediocre at best.

Let me start with a positive. Jon checked us in and he was very accommodating when our first room smelled like an ashed tray. That’s where it ends. The pillows were torture devices. You should definitely bring your own unless you like lumpy things in your neck all night long. If you like a stiff bed, like one level up from sleeping on the floor then you will be okay. The housekeeping is definitely lacking here. The walls of the bathroom were dirty and there was blood on the door as we walked into our room. I have been staying in Raton for decades on our way to Vail and I promise you it is worth it to spend the extra money for the Quality Inn across the street. The company should value John for his great customer service or this would be a one star across the board!

Found several spiders, room was musty, trash left behind, faucet handle on sink broken…I can go on and on. We travel often and this was the most disgraceful place we’ve ever stayed. I feel unclean thinking about our room.

The door handle fell off the bathroom door and I was locked in the bathroom for 15 minutes !! I had a wooden brush and I was banging on the walls and screaming and someone yelled he would go to front desk for help … after help came she said she didn’t hv a key to my door since I locked the door on top … I gathered the parts and put the handle , inner metal part and spring and got it to unlock the door … my blood pressure was thru the roof !! Newly renovated but that was really scary that the handle flew off like that!!

After my husband reserved our room, I read some reviews that worried me. We had just left a hotel from Hell in Roswell, and I was looking forward to a decent room. I was very happy with our room except for the squeaky bed and musty odor in the room. The room was very clean, mattress and pillows comfy. Nice products in the bathroom, towels very clean and looked new. They even had the good TP in the bathroom. Lol I would stay here again even with the squeaky bed and musty smell. Spray some air freshener and sit on the bed very gently. Lol

Staff was not very friendly, there was no elevator which was hard for 2 people in their 70’s to take luggage to the room. No offer to give us a first floor room. Breakfast was mediocre. Skip this one unless you don’t mind climbing stairs.

I understand it was undergoing a remodel but we were in a remodeled room and it was so unfinished and it had a locker room smell. It was a safe place for the night but not relaxing for a good nights sleep.

Beware NO ELEVATOR. The property is under remodel which was not mentioned in ad. While it was messy in the lobby from construction, the staff was very kind and offered apologies. Room was up to date, clean, took awhile for the AC to cool down room. Room was quiet, thanks to AC! New TV with lots of channels, but centered away from bed so be prepared to keep your head turned. Halls in hotel very warm. Standard continental breakfast. The BIGGEST BEWARE there is no elevator. Be prepared to carry your belongings to the very end of hall, up 2 flights of stairs, if on 2nd floor, then tonthe opposite end depending on location. I do not see how elderly, people with injuries, are needing assistance to carry can do this. I want aware this would even be allowed by law, but it was.
