This was my third time there. I use to stay at a different hotel in rapid but it was fully booked as was most in the area near the airport. The Grand had an opening. That was my first visit. Now when I have to fly out early or come in late, we stay at the Grand. We love that there is a kitchen, a couch. We live 150 miles away. We come to town to shop. If it gets to late or the weather is bad, we stay in town. The staff has been great.

I checked in for a 2 night stay, when I went to use the bathroom I could easily see that someone had done a number 2 before I checked in and the toilet had not been cleaned. At ALL. The floor was also dirty, hair was all over it and the back of the toilet. Underneath the sink I could see what looked like a patch of blood. I went straight to the front desk and asked for someone to come and clean the bathroom right away. Which they did. I had to leave for the evening, when I returned that night and pulled back the covers to get into bed, I could tell the sheets hadn’t been cleaned either. There was a spot of blood on one of the pillowcases, and hair all over the sheets too. Went straight to the desk, asked for clean sheets, which I was given, but told they were out of comforters. Thankfully I had a blanket and my own pillow in my car, and a clean pillowcase in my luggage. The lady at the desk was nice, she profusely apologized, said they had had other complaints and were blaming new cleaning staff. Apparently the staff weren’t cleaning at all, that’s my assessment. I was told she was giving all the information to the manager and they would do their best to give me a discount or a refund. When I checked out, I was not given either. Still have the full charge for the room on my credit card. I will never stay here again. I would have asked for a different room or checked into another hotel, but Rapid City was busy. I’m so disgusted by the state of that room and no refund.

I stay at this location every time I travel back home to rapid city. The check in was smooth but soon after it was awful. The toilet was plugged and wouldn’t flush. Went to office to ask for a plunger. Apparently they don’t have any at this location!! Shortly after asking for a plunger the front desk lady brought a toilet brush to the room and said “maybe this will work” it DID NOT WORK!! Knowing it was a sold out night at the hotel and lots of other hotels were also sold out and I had this reservation well in advance I had 2 choices at this point. Turn around and go home 6 hours or go to a near by store to buy a plunger. I bought one fixed the toilet on my own. Went to fold out the couch for the kids to sleep and no bedding for it in the room. The plastic that was on the mattress had a lot of hair all over it. The front desk person was rude when asking for any extra bedding because there was none in room. Shower also had hair all over in it. This is just a few things!! Again it was either go home 6 hours or stay and enjoy our time as much as possible for the reasons we came for which was for my twins birthday and my best friends recognition he worked hard for.

Our room upon first entering looked very nice. However, the kitchen, including the floors and counter tops, were dirty and sticky. The entry way light was flickering off and on and a bathroom light was burned out. These items were reported to the front desk but nothing was repaired. Enjoyed our stay but not sure we will stay again, especially with the dirty sticky kitchen.

Very well equipped. Nice refrigerator. Clean dishes in the dishwasher. My daughter used the hide-a-bed and there was no issue getting bedding from the office. The pool was good. If I were to complain, it would just be that there was a very male dominated clientele, not really family focused.
