Horrible hotel. I reserved 2 rooms for my friends and I. We checked in and left less than an hour later it was so bad. The entire hotel was very dirty including the rooms. Smelled bad, and everything was in poor condition. No lighting in the stairwell. Many of the risers of the stairs had huge chunks of cement missing out of them and there wasn’t any support structure underneath them. Very unsafe. Staff wasn’t very friendly. Decor was straight from the early seventies. Restaurant wasn’t open. Lots of noise outside. No ac. I didn’t even ask for my money back. Just wanted to get the hell out of there as fast as I could. Please avoid this place at all costs.

Great hotel for the money.
The staff was wonderful. Definitely will stay again in the future.
We stayed here for a few nights because it was close to where our daughter was staying. The rooms were kind of dingy. Showers did not work well at all. Breakfast was ok but they ran out of things.
Staff was nice and beds comfortable. Great view from balcony but loud on weekday mornings. We only stayed there due to proximity. If you're on a tight budget and need a place to sleep, this works.
The B & was on a very step incline. Had a little issue driving a manual uphill. The sights and cool temps is quite rewarding. Highly recommend.

Great Staff
I checked in at about 9PM after my flight got in from the US. Because I needed to return to the airport in the early afternoon, the hotel staff booked me a taxi and said I could leave my bags as a I explored Quito a little in the day. Additionally, I had a great meal in their makeshift dining facilities (the main dining area was under construction). The location wasn't the best, but it was within walking distance for someone looking to stretch their legs a little. I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to stay there again, but for what I needed, the hotel was just fine.
Don't waste your time or money when staying in Quito to stay here even over night. Terrible neighborhood, no a/c, bottled water was openned by someone else and even drank. Security guard was also your taxi driver. Stay as far away from this hotel as possible!!!
They were very accommodating with a late night arrival. Very close to airport. Even with our limited Spanish and their English they helped us to get to our room promptly and had transportation ready for us the next morning to get us to our conference. The room was just fine. Had everything necessary. Would have no problem recommending the Hotel to someone or staying there again.
A very pleasant experience, the service was excellent.

Way overpriced.
Picked hotel because of proximity to airport, since we were leaving on a 7 AM international flight. No wake up call or taxi as arranged, the first room was horrible, the second was better - comparable to a $30 motel, no special beer as advertised. Way overpriced.

perfect for a night near airport
Nothing particularly appealing about staying here more than a night, but conveniently located close to airport - good for first and/or last night in Quito when flying in or out. Has a restaurant. Stay was early Dec. 2012.

Savoy is convenient
We cose the Savoy for one reason: proximity to Quito airport. We were laying over for about six hours and needed a place to shower and get some rest. I had read reviews on hotel so knew what to expect. What mattered was an efficient and pleasant front desk, a hot shower, clean bed, and punctual wake up call. Got all four including a cab waiting to pick us up...at 5:30 a.m.

Visiting Quito
The hotel was ok, nothing remarkable to highlight about it. It is a quiet location and rooms are basic. There is no free wifi, which would have been a plus.
Nice hotel near the airport. Make sure to ask taxi befor getting in how much it will cost from the airport. Should be $2-3 not the $8 I got charged.

The noisiest hotel ever!
I stayed at Savoy Inn for one night hoping to have a good night's sleep before my flight the next morning. Well there was no chance of that! First of all I could clearly hear every single word being spoken by the couple in the room next door. I also heard when they unzipped their suitcase, when they opened a plastic bag, every single sound. This is because our rooms were separated by a wooden door with space around the edges so every sound just passed through. But that wasn't the worst of it - at 11 pm a party started and it sounded like it was in my room. There was unbelievably loud booming music and people laughing and cheering non-stop until 2 am. I'm not sure if the party was on the roof of the hotel or next door but it could not have been any louder. Also, I was on the top floor and heard what sounded like furniture being dragged across the roof. So, if your plan is to have a good night's sleep, then the Savoy Inn is not for you.
The Savoy Inn is a nice 3 star hotel. Its best feature is that is is near the current Quito airport, near the Jipijapa district of Quito. It has a quaint feel to it, but it is lacking some of the features that modern travelers may expect. I liked the Spanish Colonial feel to it. It was clean with a restuarant that served decent food. They brew their own beer. It is good with a German style to it.
The negatives were: in my room the beds were small; the water in the shower at 5:00am was at best tepid; There was no minibar or refrigerator; my requested wake up call never happened and my requested taxi to the airport was not requested until I appeared at the front desk at 5:10AM.
At 5:00am the front desk guy was a bit surly. I guess I interrupted his nap.
We arrived about 4 AM (approximately 6 hours later than anticipated) and were met by an attentive and capable bellman and registration clerk. We were shown a great deal of care and concern by both of these individuals.
We met the owner/proprietor/chef (Roland) the following day and even though we were over an hour later than the continental breakfast was normally open, we were treated to a delicious made to order meal.
This hotel is not new and isn't in the most attractive neighborhood in Quito, but it was very clean and the staff did everythihg they could to make our stay there comfortable and pleasant.
I'd also recommend the house micro-brewery and the Cerveza Negra. Outstanding!
We supposedly had the best room, and I'll admit the view in the morning was pleasantly surprising, but the room itself was dingy and dirty. There are lots of hotels in Quito. Look elsewhere.

Nice stay close to airport
We stayed here for one night in between flights. It was very close to the airport and convenient. The staff was nice and helpful. The room was clean and suprisingly had a great view. We ate breakfast here too and it was decent.
After a flight delay, we arrived at the hotel at 3 A.M. The staff was very friendly and showed us to a comfortable, clean room. Employees spoke little English but were able to communicate any needed info. We returned to Savoy on our return trip and found the continental breakfast(7-9 A.M.) to be quite good. I wouldn't want to stay here if visiting Quito because of the location but it was great as a stop over between flights. A cab from the airport to the nearby hotel should not cost over $5.00. We made the mistake of paying more the 1st time when we arrived in the wee hours of the A.M. We wouldn't hesitate to return to Savoy Inn if we ever visit Ecuador again.
My stay was just an overnight between flights. The hotel is very close to the airport; the taxi ride should not cost more than $3. Bring earplugs for the plane noise. I was disappointed that when I arrived at 7:30 pm on a Sunday, the kitchen was closed. The neighborhood is not one walks in after dark. But the room was very clean, had a great hot shower. And the staff were cooperative in a wakeup call and calling a taxi.
This place was very dated and primitive. It really should be classified as a Hostel- not a Hotel. It was fine for a late night arrival and early check out. That was it. Very close to airport and only a $7 cab ride each direction. That was the only positive. I would still recommend it for a quickie overnight, but not long term unless you are backpacking your way through Ecuador and need somewhere cheap.
The hotel is in a great location very close to the airport. There is a KFC right up the street and a gas station great for munchies. And the bright yellow building stands out so you wont get too lost when walking around.
Upon arrival the Customer Service seemed judgmental, and snobbish. They may only be a 2 star hotel but act like 5 star one.
The room was clean but you have to call to receive the remote control to the tv which is just a old 20 inch tv attached to the wall. Comes with a table and two chairs and all food on their menus are clearly over prices - suggest heading into town during day. Try to get a room facing the city and one above ground it really is a beautiful site to see the city and mountains in the background.
They have their own special taxis when you need, usually takes about 10-15 mins to arrive.
The free continental breakfast in morning was good and full of different types of Spanish delicacies.
