There was enough staff. The first 3 nights we didn't need reservation for restaurant but 4th night we were told we needed reservation but didn't explain how to do this. The hotel needs renovations with most of the grout has been worn away everywhere, pools, walkways, bathrooms etc. The food is ok. People with portable speakers on beach ruin the beach experience.

I recently stayed at Riu Republica and I can confidently say it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room was filthy – there were stains on the floor, and the sheets didn’t look fresh. The bathroom was moldy . The room door was missing a number. Staff were unhelpful. Plus, the hotel didn’t look anything like the photos online; it was outdated and poorly maintained. Even more, on my departure day, I told the front desk to allow my taxi driver to pick me up on the front entrance . The taxi that it was pre reserved with Expedia for my entire trip. Informed the front desk since 8:00AM, when my driver was at the hotel entrance they didn’t let him come inside to pick me up. When I went back to the front desk the manager told me let’s see what we can do, because we are not letting no taxi from another company come inside the property. The manager took the driver information and place the note on top of a desk. Totally disgusting.No customer service. Due to this incompetence I had to walk 10 minutes away from the hotel lobby to get the taxi. For the price I paid, I expected much more. I would never stay here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Save your money and go elsewhere.

There were cockroaches in the room and the room tv wasn’t working. I let the front desk know and they told me not to bring food in the room - even though we hadn’t. They never fixed the tv. We had bed bugs and they sent a receipt in my email saying they resolved the issue when they didn’t even come in the room. Never booking there again

This resort had many fun things to do. Pools were open 24/7. A bunch of nightlife within and outside of the resort. However some issues included FOOD. Both me and my travel partner got food poisoning from the dining halls/buffets. I realized how major the issue was as we were making friends around the resort and we could all agree on one thing—our stomachs were uncontrollable once we arrived to the RIU. I believe there is a lack of cleanliness when it comes to the buffet. However, the pool party was a lot of fun. Staff were nice. No room service but honestly for the price we paid, I’m still impressed. If you aren’t too keen on walking, you might not like this resort. It is HUGE! To go to the beach from our room was at least a 10/15 minute walk. Definitely kept us moving which I personally enjoyed. Overall, for the money we paid I don’t think it was all that bad (minus the food poisoning that is)
