Two times there were no enough towels at the swimming pool stands, the Staff all are great Felipe at one of the restaurants is awesome he took us to the Italian restaurant ask the cook to cook some Shrimp Alfredo as it was awesome, thanks Felipe

I recently stayed at RIU Republica, and while the resort itself is beautiful, my overall experience was disappointing. From the moment I checked in, my air conditioning never worked. Despite multiple requests to maintenance—both over the phone and in person at the lobby—nothing was ever resolved. Each time, I was assured someone would come up to fix it, yet every night I returned to a hot and humid room. This made it nearly impossible to sleep. I tried leaving my screen door open for fresh air, but the outside smelled like sewage, which made that option unbearable. Additionally, my water had a strong sewage smell, which was very concerning. Another issue was the lack of service when it came to restocking the fridge. I called several times to have water and drinks replenished, but it never happened. The beds were not very comfortable and moved constantly, and the pillows were extremely firm, making it even harder to get a good night’s rest. As for the food, the options were just okay—I mostly stuck to salads. Unfortunately, towards the end of my trip, I came down with food poisoning, which was the worst way to wrap up an already frustrating stay. I really wanted to enjoy my time here, but with these issues, I can’t say I would return or recommend this resort. I hope management takes these concerns seriously to improve future guests’ experiences.

The resort isn’t bad it definitely needs some updates. Some of the dining rooms had a weird odor and I would avoid eating at the 24 hour sports bar. I had a hotdog from there and got food poisoning from it. The other buffets and restaurants are okay but most of the food is bland and mid definitely not the best. Even the specialty restaurants weren’t that great. Our rooms AC didn’t work and I asked the people at the desk to send someone like 4 times and they never did. It was really miserable to sleep in 80 degree room every night. Another thing is they don’t tell you that if your key card touches your phone it deactivates and you have to walk all the way to the lobby to reactivate it. We finally figured out after going up there like 10 times and a guy let us know. The staff for the most part is nice and friendly sometimes at night though the staff isn’t as happy but overall everyone is welcoming. I did like how they had theme parties and transportation to the parties. The resort is a party resort and it’s really lively almost any time of the day. There is something always going on. If I went to the Dominican Republic again I don’t think I would go back to this resort.

My second time there. Originally in 2018. I see a huge feline in staff and services. Room was great visually but lots of issues. No air conditioning all week. The entire complex was down. Made for terrible sleeping conditions. Fridge in room didn’t work all week with repeated services calls going unanswered. Elevator in complex was down with a guest stuck in there for several hours with no response to emergency alarms. Luckily we came back and with help of other guests freed him from the elevator. Elevator didn’t work the rest of the week. Food offerings were very unwelcoming other than eggs and rice. Been here twice but won’t come back. The shows were the biggest asset to this resort like all Riu resorts. That gets a 10 from me

The room was disgusting, the bathroom was so dirty it had moles on the shower hose, there was dust in every corner of the room. The vent for the bathroom was not working we reported it several time no one came to look at it. The food was not the best however you could find something to eat but I was expecting better quality food in the Caribbean. We saw a guy in the hallway with ladder and stuff and ask him if he was coming to our room to fix the vent he just look at us head to toe and kept walking smh. I have been to a good amount of hotel and RIU Republica is the worst I would not recommend anyone there. The room needed to be properly clean before tourists enter them. We ask others to see if it was only our room and other people were having issues like dirty room also. It was a NoNo for me.

o Hotel e maravilhoso porem requer uma melhor manutenção a descarga do meu banheiro quebrou e ficou para arrumar mas nao foram. a alimentação muito boa porem nem todos os atendentes são simpáticos uns excelentes outros nem tanto.
