Our vacation was great, wonderful in this beautiful hotel. I can confidently say that there are no shortcomings here, everything is just amazing. The staff is very welcoming, friendly, clean, the service is wonderful, the cleaning of the rooms is always excellent, fast and clean. Everywhere on the territory is clean, well-kept, comfortable. In all the restaurants the food is simply very tasty and varied every day, for every taste. Thank you very much to the hotel staff!!

The check-in process was a bit of an annoyance. I checked in online to avoid waiting in the line and when I got there they tried to get me to stay at another property instead of the bavaro which I booked over a month in advance. I stood my grounds and told them absolutely not this is what I booked, this is what I paid for and his response was they oversold and don't have rooms availabl. I said again no you find me a room that's it, they even offer to give me a free weeks vacation to stay at any Riu. I simply refuse. I want what I paid for that's it. what should have been a 5-minute check-in became a 25 minutes checking. They finally got me a room at bavaro palace which is where I booked and after that everything was great. The property is newly renovated grounds are really nice the restaurant food is tasteless we decided to eat at the buffet after trying three of the restaurants. The Steakhouse was subpar. The buffet tasted the best place for food. There's a lot of entertainment for every age group it was definitely one of the most fun vacation I've had. The foam party at the Riu party place is a must if you like partying. The staff are all great and friendly. Quite a lot of guests are rude to the staff so if you find them not smiling maybe just smile at them and say good morning and they're all are awesome. I highly recommend Riu palace bavaro just remember to not take the BS of them trying to get you to stay at another property.

We stayed at the Bavaro Palace, good size resort, beach and ocean were fantastic, multiple pools, staff amazing. My kids had a blast. Water park is good but old. Small kids area are amazing. Food options plus snacks areas are amazing and food is really good.

Property was clean, staff was attentive, and not overly crowded. Food left a lot to be desired in my opinion! The exceptions were for lunch the WOK was good, Dinner the steakhouse was decent overall as was the Italian restaurant. American restaurant food was cold and waitstaff wasn’t accommodating, speaking of food being cold that was the worst part about the buffet, everything was Luke warm at best. For the price the food is on par I’d say but don’t expect 5 star or even 4 star food imo.

Overall you are in a beautiful warm place and that is what matters. The suite was comfortable for my family of 4. Even though the resort is big we didn't seem to have too much trouble finding seats at the beach, pool, or dinner. The food overall is average. The food court by the beach was good. There is a smaller food court in a less busy location that we also frequented. Lots to do for kids-Pirate ship area, water slides for older kids (my kids went on one and it was scary and both complained of neck and head pain). Plenty to do onsite. We wouldn't go back but that is more about us and our preferences than the resort itself.

The beach was fabulous - the buffet was average but not great - the bar and drinks were wonderful, BUT the Breakfast teas in the morning were "Horrible" and the coffee was below average. How can a supposed 5 star resort have such terrible tea in the morning. No selection and what you offered was very low quality - truly a great disappointment - to the point we dreaded breakfast. Tea is an essential part of a morning breakfast - do some research and fix this problem or we may never return. Hot water, a quality tea bag and some milk or a lemon slice is not rocket science - show some class and fix this shameful 2 star service!!!!
