The VIP should be how every room should be in general. Only complaint was the hard bed in the junior room before the upgrade and the beach chairs & sun umbrellas there were not enough and a lot of them were broken

The stuff is so rude and they demand money for everything! We had a swimming ring and ask the resort stuff to help us to inflate it, they demanded $20 just for helping us to inflate it….i was speechless…..and the majority of people who work there like this….we purchased a privilege service, the stuff on the beach or near the pool privilege area, don’t pay attention to you at all….in comparison to other resorts where we had excellent experience without paying extra. If you want steak or seafood you have to pay extra, half of a lobster costs like $100….when other resorts offer it as part of “All inclusive”, there is also no snacks available in the room….first when we checked in, we had 1 pack of chips, on other days mini bar was not replenished at all….when we asked to replenish it they started complaining…. We traveled as a family of 3, one evening our daughter asked for a food because she was hungry at 10.30pm…we had no snacks in the room, restaurants were already closed and the room service that supposed to work 24/7, didn’t answer…I called like 10 times…..my husband went to a lobby area to buy her some snacks in the store they have on premises…. On the other we met 1 person, Rocio, she works at the restaurant, when we said to her it’s our daughter 5th birthday, she went above and beyond to get her a custom cake in the morning at the buffet….she was the only nice person we met there. Thank you Rocio! We appreciate what you did to make our daughter’s birthday special!!!

We enjoyed the restaurant options. The layout and location was excellent. The favorite part of this location was the beach. You could walk a long ways on a very nice sandy walk. However, you were viewed differently for booking thru Expedia and your wrist band tells this to the staff. This hotel is not non-smoking. While out in the main area or the pool, you will experience smoke.

Enjoyed the honeymoon suite which came with the hotel's privilege package. We were assigned a butler who was so attentive and made all our dinner reservations. Food was great for all inclusive resort. Our butler Tomas also decorated our suite reflect a happy anniversary celebration as I traveledwith my fiancé. I enjoyed a discounted back massage at the spa which was so relaxing. The hotel was overall gorgeous.

The buffet restaurant was frequently out of tables, no one was cleaning the dirty ones. Also, couple of times there weren’t any clean plates or utensils in the buffet some of the restaurants the service is extremely bad. It’s very difficult to get a reservation and at the Mexican restaurant, it took us two hours to get our food. Three times during our stay there we received the wrong food or drinks. The Mexican restaurant did not have salsa.

This was my family's 5th time to Punta Cana. brief review. PROs: - Large property, very walkable, there are even shuttles to take you around the property, but it felt big enough that it didn't feel crowded (visited peak season) - Great beach, no seaweed, the water was so clear and the sand was white - the two pools were big enough people to swim, play etc - Lots of cabanas/chairs around the beach and pool (however must get up early to reserve a spot) - the food was actually good, arguably the food at the buffet was better than the special restaurants - the coffee shop, had espressos, lattes, with numerous choices, a great addition not seen in other resorts - lots of activities on-site for free including bowling, archery, batting etc. CONS: - Service was not good. Most of our stay we felt as if they were understaffed and extremely busy. - The pushy staff that wanted you to join timeshare, tried once at check in, tried again in front of buffet (at breakfast), a flock of them will be there to ask to eat breakfast with you and waste your time (we avoided this and read reviews ahead of time). Out of all our stays, this is the first place we stayed at where they continuously badgered you for time share. very very annoying!! - there is only 2 outdoor showers to rinse off after coming back from the beach/or entering the pool. One was only for privilege members. it barely worked. - impossible to book reservations at special restaurants at a reasonable hour unless you upgraded.

The Hotel is very clean with very modern facilities. Nice giant pools with bars and a nice clear water beach. Buffet has diverse menu altough not 24/7. Even though many restaurants are advertised as included with no booking required, occupancy is limited and often reserved full in advance for priority or premium members. Dont expect to eat at any restaurant other than buffet if you don’t have a “Privileged” membership (as they call it around in the property) other than that the experience was pretty good.

We were greeted right away when we arrived and sent directly to the "privilege" check in area. We arrived an hour before check in and they checked us in and allowed us to go eat and roam the property and come back at 3:00 for our room assignments. However our rooms were not ready until 4:30 and even though we asked repeatedly for rooms to be close together with our travel friends, they had us on opposite sides of the property so we had to wait again. As far as food, the Buffets were ok. Sensai, the Asain restaurant was very good. As far as our butler...butler, what butler?!?!? We were able to get him to book our dinner at the restaurant, but never saw him the entire trip. If we needed something, we were directed how to take care of it, instead of him taking care of it for us. His loss, we had allotted a nice sum of cash for our butler. Entertainment was pretty good, kept us busy at night. I would suggest the extra money for the privilege, the perks were nice. Having breakfast at the exclusive privilege restaraunt on the beach was the perfect way to start your day. Pools were large and never full even if all the chairs were occupied. Plenty of room to roam but it never felt like there were too many people there
