The personnel was really pleasant, but the evening activity was dreadful. The room smelled bad, the towels were old, the air conditioner was not functioning correctly, the sofa was old, the bedsheet and blanket were pretty old, and the fan was not working.

The Staff, Food and Grounds at the Bahia Principe Bouganville were amazing. From the moment that you land at the airport and connect with their transportation team for transfer to the hotel you are treated like royalty. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. There are many dining options and the buffet was amazing as were the Don Pablo Restuarant and the Steak house, Well worth the visit.Special thanks to the front desk staff, the restaurant staff and housekeeping!

The place is quiet and unique, so you can stay in, enjoy the sun, and relax. The downside for me is that the restaurants, other than the buffet, are always fully booked. We did not make it to any restaurants for the four days here. It will be great if it is a walk-in & first come, first serve.

Loved everything here, the food isn’t Dominican, but it was still very tasty. The property was super clean and was very quiet, no kids which was a major plus. The staff were very friendly and accommodating towards all our needs. Entertainment was my absolute favorite, kept everyone involved and were funny and very nice. 10/10 highly recommend !

If your like me and read several reviews carefully, read this one, it’ll help your decision. Check in was so incredibly simple-(check in online before you get there), the front desk team was fabulous the entire time we were there. We were offered a cold towel when we arrived as it was quite hot out. Carlos booked all of our dinners for us so we didn’t have to even put any thought into it, and had our bags taken to our room. When we got to the room, it was exactly as pictured. It was very clean and the AC worked great! Make sure to keep one of your keys in the slot by the door when you leave the room, this keeps the AC on even while you are away. AC was COLD=perfect The pools are beautiful, the grounds are beautiful and the beach is breathtaking. Everything is pristine and clean. There is great pride taken at this resort to have it be in mint shape every single day. The entertainment staff were awesome. They are so much fun and get everyone involved. They make their rounds saying hi to everyone there, chatting a bit and really getting to know everyone. The wait staff at breakfast lunch and dinner gave us service that was beyond amazing. The friendliness shown by them daily made us so greatful to have picked this location to visit. The buffets have a large number of options and the restaurants were impeccable in the food served. This locations is back quite a ways from the road, inside a gated area which ensures safety. If you’re on the fence, do it! You won’t regret it

The resort is beautiful, the staff were fabulous, the food was ok always found something to eat, rooms dated not really luxurious but adequate and clean . the beach has plenty of sun loungers but if you are privilege club member the section on the beach is small and same loungers not luxury beds, the Sea is brown and murky . jelly fish present most of the time.

The rooms are not luxury, the shower had so much stone built that were barely working and looked nasty. In the room there was some mold on the ceiling. We were there for 9 days and I had to call a manager to get a restaurant reservation, because as I was told it’s a low season and they send the staff home

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I had a great time at the hotel, they make the best with what they have. Aside from the staff, the hotel itself has a lot of room for improvement. The rooms had basically no outlets to charge your devices, the shower temperature wasn’t the best you needed to wait at least 10 minutes so that the water gets hot. The jacuzzi had some mold we did not use it. The food was ok, not impressed and one thing that was disappointing is that during low season they only open one restaurant per day hence, reservations were very limited and almost impossible. We met great people at the hotel which made the experience much better. The beach is not what we expected. Overall not really a luxury hotel but can’t say enough about how great and attentive the staff is.

The staff is very attentive and the food is great. Usually resort food gets a bad rep for not being so great, but Bouganville definitely got it right in that regard. However, I wouldn’t consider this a luxury 5 star resort. The toilets are jankey and don’t immediately flush and the drain plate in our shower wasn’t properly affixed to the floor. Plus their key cards deactivate anytime it’s next to your phone so you have to consistently go to the front desk to get it reactivated (this was really annoying!). You’re also pretty far from restaurants and shops you may find online. Getting an Uber from here is impossible (I tried) and the resort will price gouge you for any trips you’d like to take so absolutely make sure any excursion you book includes pickup at the Bahia Principe La Romana!! Their activity pool however, earns them major points. The swim up bar never lets your cup go empty and they even fill up reusable water bottles with anything you’d like, including alcohol. Overall it’s a great resort.
