Villas close to Teatro Tropicana are very noisy as there are outdoor entertainment and you can hear everything till 11PM. Not suitable for seniors and young children who go to bed early

I recently stayed for 4 nights in an upgraded, 2 bed junior suite near the pool. Initially, we spent one night in the “regular” junior suite, however ended up moving rooms. The first room had a few issues with it, most concerning was the patio door would not close all the way or lock. This was obviously a major safety concern. We notified the front desk, and they offered us a new room for an additional $60, if we did not spend this we would’ve remained in the same room. Other than the door not locking, the toilet did not flush, nor would the bathtub/shower drain. Thankfully the room was clean, but the TV did not work great. Once we moved to the new room, we were much happier. All the locks worked, was very clean, air conditioner and ceiling fan worked perfectly. It was a much more comfortable experience. The food was okay - the pasta station at the buffet was my go to. The beach bar/restaurant was often busy and a great quick grab for fries or onion rings. They did have a few other choices, however, they would run out quite quickly. For those who are GF (gluten free), dairy free, or have any dietary restrictions, I would not recommend this resort. The buffets did not have anything labelled with allergens, no dietary accommodations, and certainly a lot of cross contamination. The al a carte restaurants did have allergens labeled, however, there wasn’t any dietary accommodations (ie: GF pasta). Our best meal was the Japanese Teppanyaki al a carte restaurant. Overall 3.5/5.

Their hotel staffs don’t have pride in their work. I never seen so much staff doing nothing during working hours. They rather chitchat than tend to their guests. I will never go back this hotel.

Just came back from the Bahia Principe Punta Cana. The entertainment was amazing every night new show& daily entertainment at the pools. So much fun!! My only complaint would have to be during check in the gentleman who was helping us was so worried about an up sale he completely forgot to tell us anything about the resort we were Lost for a bit but figured it out.

Excellent! However, we did an upgrade for the ESMERALDA hotel from the same BAHIA PRINCIPE group. The Esmerald had better buffet, better drinks. Punta Cana has local alcoholic drink brands. Esmeralda has Jack Daniels, Chivas, Tanqueray, Beafeter, Bombay, Absolut Vodka, baileys and other famous and good brands for those that want some drinks. Also the buffet for lunch and for breakfast and for dinner in Esmeralda is with a higher variety. I would go back to punta cana, but if you can pay more for the esmeralda, I think it's better. I just missed some ice cream for my kids. They had it, but it was not that good. The gym is also very good.
