I booked this trip for my husband. His friends and my husband said it was a horrible experience. They said practically there weren’t any decent food on the buffet. A few a la cart restaurants didn’t serve decent food either. There wasn’t any selection of liquor at the bars. They ordered the same drink several times, every time it looked and tasted differently. Special local drink “mamajuana” came from suspiciously looking plastic gallon bottle without labels. Not to ruin their vacation they said they were just laughing all day to cope with their horrible food and drinks selection. As regards the staff employees were very nice, courteous, and accommodating.

The property is very nice, but in need of updates. There was little to do besides the beach which is beautiful but with lots of seaweeds. Entertainment at the property was almost non existent except for a show at 10pm each night. The room staffing was the best. The biggest issue of all was the food. Everything we had was very bland. The buffets were crowded, noisy and usually full of dirty tables. By the time we found a table, our food was usually cold. The food staff really didn't seem very interested in doing their jobs or with friendliness. Most others that we talked with during our 9 day stay had similar thoughts regarding the food experience. At one time, this may have been a 5 star, but it's now a 2 to 3 star. We will never go back.

Not Vegetarian-Friendly & Needs Upgrades We recently stayed at Barceló Bávaro Palace, and while the property is big with a great location, our experience as vegetarians was disappointing. The buffet had vegetarian options, but cross-contamination was a big issue—tongs were not properly used, making it hard to eat safely. Among the specialty restaurants, Mexican was decent, but Italian and Spanish were awful—we couldn’t even swallow a bite. Another major issue was the stale odour in dining areas (except the restaurants), possibly due to carpets or poor ventilation. It was so unpleasant that we had our coffee and bread on the patio to avoid feeling nauseous. The resort is visibly old, with some renovated areas but not up to modern standards. Staff were helpful, but the outdated infrastructure was noticeable. Housekeeping was good, but the bathroom design was poor—since it’s open, the corridor would get wet after every shower and stay that way until the next day. While the location is great, this resort is not ideal for vegetarians. Food options were disappointing, and the dining atmosphere was uncomfortable. With so many better options available, we wouldn’t return. Rating: 3/5

Me and my husband went and honestly we cant wait to go back. Everyone was so sweet and welcoming at all times. The food was alright not too bad and the pools were nice and clean. This is definitely our go to place as they do have the adult side only that we had access too. Check this place out you will not be disappointed!!!!

Everything was excellent about this place I want to go back again and again. There is only a little bit of sewage smell around the sports bar outside. And it would be nice if you could play pool or bowling without being charged. Would also wish that they would not charge to go into the wave pool water slide area. Everything else is fantastic
