Food is horrible, food had no taste. Customer service is horrible. Bartenders wouldn’t serve us even though we did the swim up pools. Ceiling in areas around the casino was falling. Hibachi took over 30 minutes to get our drinks, we actually got the rise from the hibachi prior to our drinks. Restaurant buffet smells like sewage back up.

Positive….The property is very beautiful and clean. The rooms are clean. The staff were very friendly, but there was a little language barrier. Negative…1. The hotel layout is very unorganized. We booked adults only, and I wish I didn’t. Adults only section was all the way in the back but even there you could hear kids running around. so basically the whole facility is family friendly. I don’t think they should have adults only section in this resort. 2. There was a sewage smell in my adult only tower and room. 3. The AC in our room was not working properly. The room had sensors, every time you leave the room the AC shuts down, So you walk into a very humid room. By the time the room starts getting cold it takes a long time, and even then it’s not cold enough. Sleeping was a challenge because we were trying to keep the AC going since it was working on sensors. The bottom line is, if you are there with your kids and family it’s a beautiful resort to stay in, but do not purchase adults only package. It’s not worth it.

When we booked, we thought we were staying in the Adults Only area, but the rooms were not, kids running everywhere. There was an adult pool, adult breakfast seating area, an adult restaurant. I was just surprised the room area was not. Also, communicating with the staff was difficult, it seems they didn’t understand anything I was asking for. I also was charged for 3 bottles of wine, when I only purchased 2 at 2 different restaurants. Need better activities at the pool area for people to get into. The night entertainment was terrible also, the dancers were ok, just the same show with different outfits each night. The resort itself was pretty overall though!

I did not like that you HAD to make reservations for dinner every single night at every restaurant. Ridiculous! Arrived at night at resort and obviously did not have any reservations and we had to beg someone to let us in and eat. Then we had to reserve the rest of the week ahead of time and some were booked!

I recently stayed at the Lopesan Hotel and had a fantastic experience! The hotel was incredibly clean and well-maintained. The rooms were comfortable and spacious the only thing it was very humid in the room no matter what we did our how many time they cleaned. The real highlight of my stay was the restaurant, El Asador. The food was amazing, with a wide range of delicious options. The service was also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff.

Beautiful resort. Checking in was a breeze. Upgrades were a must. Only complaint was the service from the bartenders and pool staff. We always tip the staff and even then, they just seemed not to appreciate and were slow.

Mix of feelings…

The property is gorgeous, I really love the way it looks, how it s organized and the breath of activities you can do around. The entertainment was amazing and there is always something going on around the boulevard or swimming pool. That being said, I never got the VIP welcome I was supposed to (free drinks) while I saw other people receiving it. The room is nice but the toilets are see through, it smells very damp and I think there may have been some flooding happening. It s humid in the room 24/7 so be ready for everything to smell. The room service didn’t happen one day, don’t know why. The adult only area contained adult only, which was great given the other comments I read. The beach area was crowded with people leaving their towels on long chairs while never showing up, which is a bit of a shame. There should be a way to monitor that as it s unfair for other guests. My boyfriend and I got food poisoning one day and we didn’t know if it happens at Saona island or in the resort from the fish at the buffet. We met other guests who also had food poisoning from the buffet…I didn’t know what to think about that. Booking restaurants were a nightmare and when I managed to book the Mexican one, the food was terrible ! I ordered a tostada, which was very soft as you can tell it was made hours ago…I was not impressed. The staff, like in many places in Dominican Republic, were not the friendliest especially at the restaurant. They just want your money!
