The rooms are old and run down. The worst part is they are insistent on making you attend “a meeting for a travel package.” They will call you to your room and bother you. Kids took up the swim up bar area to jump off the stools and get frozen drinks from the bartenders. There is a “strict dress code” to only certain people for the restaurants. Collar shirt no sandals but if you paid them extra they would let you pass. They serve only dos xx and 2 of the days they ran out of light beer. Liquor is very cheap no such thing as top shelf here. All chairs in the beach area were taken by 8 am despite a “no saving chair policy” . If you are staying here take a cup..they will fill it. Otherwise you will get an extra small cup . We ended up leaving the resort everyday as the food was not good.

Sunscape is a nice place to stay. Our grandsons liked the pool and water park. We had Mario for a waiter for breakfast and lunch and he did a wonderful job taking care of us.

Great for families. The staff were amazing, location was great and would recommend for others with children. Disappointed we could not dine at the Italian restaurant with children, which provided far less options for dinner. Would also recommend a more defined rule for Floaties. I was unable to float in a small ring (adult sitting floater that is 2.5 feet wide) while others were allowed sitting floaters with nets. It’s unclear how those two things are different and one is allowed while the other is not. For volleyball I would also suggest a longer playing time in the evening. All five times we played, by the time the staff arrived and the sand was watered down we started at 420/430 and were promptly stopped at 5 pm. The option to rent the ball and keep the net up until sunset would be great. Many other resorts do it this way as it is not an activity that needs to be staffed.

Property and amenities were as expected. Very family focused and friendly so if you’re into a more party like vibe this isn’t the place. My only issue was allowing guest to save places at the pool early in the morning but not using them until after lunch.

Amazing family friendly property, the entertainment shows and staff were amazing! We loved the popcorn and movie at night outside before the entertainment show. All the staff were super friendly, would address by name at the restaurants. The food was great and changed every day. We loved the 24hr Cafe that had coffee, veggies, sandwiches and baking, perfect for a late snack. Alex is the best for server at the pool!! The location is amazing with a mall next door and quick taxi to malecon and marina. Our room was simple but the partial ocean view was better than partial. We could watch the entertainment shows half the days from our balcony. Our room was kept super clean by Veronica, including keeping the ‘chair bed’ my 8 year old insisted on sleeping on, she gave extra blankets for it. The only issue is people ‘saving chairs at 8am and not coming back till the afternoon despite signs saying not to. Staff would start to remove the towels around noon. A few times we just did it ourselves to get a chair. My 8 yr old has always been too scared to go on a water slide but he loved the water park and rode ALL of the slides!!! We would definitely book again!! All my 3 kids loved it, which is hard to do! Thanks Sunscape!!

This is our 9th visit and well couldn't be better. From thr moment we get there we are treated like royalty from Omar oscar mario javier at the beach and Gladys at the buffet it was all amazing. Cant wait to go back.

Sunscape was a beautiful experience! They kept the atmosphere interesting, fun, and relaxing. They always made you feel welcome and that they were happy to assist in any way. It is an older property, but as long as you understand that going in - it's fine. The resort isn't huge and we were there with a large group (about 24) but it was easy to connect woth everyone because of that. And there were never any long wait times for drinks or dining. All staff were very friendly. I have stayed at much higher rated resorts in the area, and found the food much better at this one.
