This is an outdated property BUT talking to one employee before leaving the property confirmed that they are about to do some upgrades to the entire property mid this year (2024) by December is expected to be fully renewed. The service, cleanliness and coordination between the staff is impecable. I was only disappointed about the property conditions for the amount we paid for it. It is a family resort to enjoy for all ages and the evening shows were impecable.

We stayed at RIU Jalisco for 3 nights we got 3 rooms, at the moment I reserved I requested all the 3 rooms be together and easy access to the elevator for elderly members of my family they didn’t care about it, we got 5 floor almost at the end of the building, from the room to the beach 20 minutes walk which is a lot for elderly people, but the real reason I’m giving a 1 start it is because the whole experience for me was terrible starting for the check in to our room was very late, and the room key cards didn’t work, the toilet didn’t work properly, the shower overflowed all the time, but other then having trips to the reception an making calls to explain all the problems the worst came when I find roaches in the room, again I went to the reception to make a complaint they just offer me another room and they told me that I have to go to costumer service, I went but the whole conversation with the guy was useless, I ask for a refund for one room one night for all the inconveniences that I had but he refused to do it, I got tired of hearing him just apologizing and I left, the room was 5137 and they just changed us to 5138 which it is the room next door. Later that day I got a call from reception telling me that the next day they need the room cleared for some maintenance work that would take 4 hours from 10-2pm; I don’t know what kind of work they did. Although the beach and other services in the hotel were good the overall experience was awful. A shout out to Omar best wait

The entertainment staff was amazing love Manu and Aranza with the zumba lessons and general everything was great .

Loved our stay here, had a large group of friends come with us on the trip and everyone had a great time. Only reason I wouldn’t give 5 stars is everyone got a little sick at one point in the trip from something they ate (however all the food tasted great)

Overall, our stay was pleasant, though there is room for improvement in some areas. Customer Service: The staff were outstanding—friendly, helpful, and very attentive throughout our stay. Their professionalism really stood out and made us feel welcome. Food: The food was decent, but it could be improved in terms of variety and flavor. A bit more attention to presentation and taste would elevate the dining experience. Facilities: The facilities are functional but clearly showing their age. Some updates or renovations would make a big difference in guest comfort and overall appearance. Cleanliness: Cleanliness was okay, but not up to the standard we would expect. A more thorough approach, especially in shared areas and bathrooms, would improve the overall impression. Overall Experience: We had a good time and appreciated the hospitality, but the experience didn’t quite reach the exceptional level. I do not think we will ever be back.

I don’t know where to start, but this was our first visit to PV, we will not be returning. This is the first time we stayed in RIU hotel, we usually stay at Villa de Palmer and decided to change it a bit big mistake check in was easy and fast. Hotel rooms were clean, but that’s about all the positive feedback I can give. The food was absolutely horrible. Everything was buffet just watching people go up to the buffet, not using tongs, wiping their face, licking their fingers handling food inappropriately, coughing, sneezing all over the food that you’re about to go eat. It was gross. I was not aware that this was a buffet only facility or we would’ve not have booked it. Out of a family of 6- 5 of us got sick at one point in time due to the food/water and we were very careful with the Mexico water and food once we started eating out, we felt better however the rooms were still not great. There was a big party area next to the hotel that was way too close to the rooms so all night you heard big loud, screaming, and yelling so those who wanted to spend the day out on the beach and go to bed at a decent hour were out of luck and if you had kids, it was even worse. The hotel room was OK but if you go with anyone and want any type of privacy in the bathroom, you won’t get it. The bathroom is open, when you step out of the shower or out from the toilet, there’s no privacy and nowhere to change your clothes. Not be going back, especially to this hotel. Sick 4 days out of the 9 there.

We usually stay at a Riu Palace. You pay more but it’s worth it now that we tried Riu Vallarta. The food is much better at a palace. Plus, it’s true a la carte. This resort was half buffet at a carte restaurant. Plus I understand recycling food but when you’re at a restaurant and you know the same choices are at the Buffett it’s not that great of a feeling! Food was boring same old same old every single day. I will NOT be returning. However, Oscar and Eric the entertainers were one of the best I’ve seen at a Riu! Especially Eric, that guys puts his heart and soul into his work.
