The food was not very good. The Japanese place was the best. Bartenders were slow and rarely came around at the pool. You'd have to go up to the counter to get drinks. Beds are hard.

Problems which outweighed the good points 1. Water from in room water spigots was not potable and warning signs were completely lacking. I got sick from not being informed or I missed lobby staff stating it but then they were stating many things during check in in English which sometimes was very hard to hear with all the noise about the lobby. There should have been a sign in each room. 2. Not clear how far the non potable water problem extended- i.e. to the hotels kitchen? 3. Only 1 liter of drinking water per person provided in each room each day. Insufficient. Some US hotels provide it as well even with potable water. 4. Emergency evacuation route in a tsunami (or to just get out of certain rooms like ours) had one walking toward the ocean first thus increasing the risk of a bad outcome. 5. There was no exit to ground next to room 532 - only to the third floor. To get to route 200, one has to walk towards the circle between the two buildings and then walk back along a road or through corridors where shops were located. 6. One out of two 4 person elevators to get to the circle did not work in the bldg. across the street from the lobby. It looks like one hasn’t worked for a long time. 7. No layout map of the entire hotel. I asked and staff couldn’t provide one. 8. Staff seemed overly concerned about the wrist bracelets upon checkout, yet they were never checked at the hotel at other times.

All inclusive, affordable accommodation. This is not a brand new resort. Its close to local activity. It is beautiful, conveniently located, offers great food, many pools, entertainment every night, and the staff was wonderful. This resort is family friendly, with older folks as well. We felt very safe. My wife and I brought our 14 year old daughter and 19 year old son. We had a great time! This resort set the bar fairly high for expectations at this price point. We will be returning for sure. Thank you Canto Del Sol

we spent 2 weeks there last year and loved it. I think they changed management because it wasn't as good. The food was much worse and the staff wasnt as good.

I was worried about all the bad review. The food was super great ! Staff friendlyness couldn't be better. The buffet food is homie and healthy food and is tasty. The a la carte restaurant are equally great. The cevicheria and morenita restaurant have great food ! Im amazed about how it surpassed my expectations. There is beach volleyball, I did waterpolo, pool volleyball. We werent bored at all. The only cons is the rooms are little bit oudated. They were clean tho. To be honest it didnt matter too much for me since we didnt spend much time in the room. I would rather have great food , activities the swim up bar, great hotel for not having the best room. Overall i would come back in a heartbeat, you can trust me because im really picky on food and everything and this place is great ! They probably improved since the other bad review. We spent 7 days and the food was different and good through the week.
