We took our parents and found the property very accessible and had everything we needed including a very nice spa and gym. Staff were very friendly! Convenient shopping and activities nearby. The only downside was the system used to book reservations in a la carte restaurants. If you have privilege status, go to the Bloved restaurant! Fabulous meals and service there!

Always a great stay …. 10 th time back. Food was great , cannot comment on buffet but the beloved was excellent and great service as always. A la cartes were great , shout out to Lucas in the Ayami , awesome service. Didn’t get into the Mexican restaurant which was disappointing, the reservations were really hard to get. Jared at entertainment was so much fun ! Ps thanks for explaining the card trick! Great stay , see you next time

Good Facility, need to improve electronic dining reservation system, this is not working at all. They have some amazing restaurants but different to get the table due to issues with the booking system.

The biggest problem at this resort is the limited food options available. The buffets are terrible and it was impossible to get a reservation at any of their 4 restaurants. The reservation system seems ridiculous at best! You have to wake up at 7:45 am (on vacation!!) because the reservation opens at 8am daily, but don’t worry because you won’t get one anyway! It fills up by 8:02!! There are better resorts with better food options and better reservation systems.

Everything was great while visiting Catalonia Riviera Maya! We stayed over Christmas and New Year's, and the festivities were great for both! One major downfall is their restaurant reservation system. We had four people, two people in two rooms. The reservation system would only let us pick up to two people, I put "4 people" in the notes section and in the section that asked how many people in your room and it only worked once. We got turned away once and had to clarify ahead of time for two restaurants who couldn't promise us a spot, but did end up getting us in. Just a little frustrating when you're not wanting the buffet again and want to have a nice meal with your family. Otherwise, everything was great! And the entertainment group was great, including the pool entertainment and the shows at night!

Resort was great, very clean, spacious rooms, most of the staff were friendly and happy to help, food was very good, selection in the buffet was varied and lots to choose from. Areas for improvement - the dinner reservation system is extremely inefficient, there was little to do in the evenings other than the dance show, and there were no servers at the bars, around the pools or beach area. This is the first all inclusive that we have been to that you had to go up to the bar to get your own drinks each time. Not a deal breaker, but we have never experienced this before.

This is the first bad review we have ever left on a property after vacationing in Cancun area for the last 25 years and we hope we save someone else their hard earned money. This is a self service motel 6 resort. We booked 2 rooms one had needed 2 beds for 2 adults of different genders, we got two singles and a sorry that is all we have. Both rooms were nothing like the website both out of date and run down. The toilet in our room never stopped running and bad a horribly load squealing noise that they never fixed it was so load you couldn't sleep so I had to turn the water valve off and on when we wanted to use it. Asked multiple times to have it fixed no one showed up. The ceiling in the bathroom leaked so you couldn't leave anything on the counter of the bathroom as water constantly dripped out of the ceiling. This is the first resort we have stayed at that had no servers any where on the property, you had to get up and find one of the few bars to get a drink and they didn't open until 11:00. You have to use their terrible app to book reservations for the restaurants which open at 8:00 am. We had 4 adults on the app as soon as it opened and we were only able to get 2 reservations our entire stay. We made the best of our vacation but left with a feeling of being ripped off and there is nothing worse than wasting your money on a vacation. We heard multiple similar stories from other vacationers that we spoke to.

Positives: Lush grounds with some wildlife, easy to navigate the grounds because the resort isn’t very big, being able to snorkel right off the beach. Being able to walk to the marina was really great - got to watch the dolphins and manatees. Negatives: couldn’t get into any of the restaurants, a pool/swim up bar was completely closed the whole time we were there and we were given no notice prior to arrival or when we checked in. Gym was closed the whole time we were there and no notice was given. Spa was closed the first three days we were there and no notice was given. Check in was very slow. The resort was ok, but we wouldn’t go back.

If you expect to be pampered and treated like you are appreciated by spending our money at this hotel, don’t come here. They show on the website that you will be staying at the Preferred Section of the hotel ,,,, well that’s not true I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone but the only good thing was the entertainment staff. They were wonderful especially when they weren’t provided much.

We enjoyed our time at the Riviera Maya staff was friendly and helpful. The few times we got into the restaurants it was good, but it was very hard to get a reservation. I think the reservations go more towards the exclusive customers. Gated community was nice friendly.

The property has to many deficiencies to mention , it would take several pages . The food program is TERRIBLE to say the least . Everything else is a matter of opinion . In the end I would not go back or recommend this property as I was very disappointed .
