I stayed for two nights with my 7 year old daughter and her cheerleading team. The hotel was esthetically pleasing, and my daughter had a blast. However, after scraping together the funds to even book the stay in the same hotel as her team, I arrive at the Hyatt Recency in Princeton NJ with very little money to spend while there. When checking in the lady tells me they need my credit card to hold 100 until check out in case of any property damage. I immediately got upset because not only did Expedia or the Hyatt website state that there would be a 100 deposit upon check in but that 100 was all I had to spend while I was there! They told me that unfortunately they couldn’t let me stay unless I let them hold the $100 on my credit card. This is after I already paid over five hundred and fifty dollars in full for my stay! I was so upset standing there with my daughter because in order for us to stay with her team we had to temporarily subtract the last 100 we had for that trip. Do we get it back at check out? Yes. Is that helpful during my trip? Not at all! Did they care? NOT AT ALL. Another thing was there wasn’t even an included breakfast.
