Great Douro River Hotel
It was my 1st time in Portogallo, I chose Porto, specifically the Douro River, because it seemed low key & like a cool place.... it was! The only 2 negatives were the pillows, they were down & there were no others in the room. I didn't see a note in the room saying they were available upon request, that it made sleep difficult. I caught an intestinal virus after my 1st meal, having nothing to do with the hotel of course. The food at the restaurants, i only had 2 meals, was tasty but portions were huge and the food was quite heavy. The other downside was that the room appeared clean, but when i looked down on the floor where the lamp switch was, i saw that it was pretty dirty & found hairs on the bed. However, those are fixable issues. I would recommend staying at this hotel, the staff was great, superfriendly & always available, albeit it's a small hotel, which is what i like.
