Shockingly, an employee walked right into our room without knocking at 7 pm. Totally inexcusable. My wife is still shell shocked. Manager apologized and said he would comp the room fee. No resolve to date. Room was nice though

We liked that the premises had a parking garage but it’s rather cramped and very tight coming and going. The evening staff was very pleasant and helpful for these visitors. The outside was a bit of chaos with all the homeless and the no parking. The room was beautiful and we fully enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone

It's a nice older hotel in downtown. Near Powell Bookstore. The area seems to be a little iffy. Portland isn't what it used to be.

In the evening, the area around the hotel did not seem safe. The hotel did a good job of securing. I liked the happy hour for patrons. The coffee was not great.

Great home base for downtown Portland

This is our second stat at the Mark Spencer, and it's becoming our go-to hotel in downtown Portland. It's steps away from restaurants and shopping. The service is excellent and the decor is pure Portland.

Really liked the location and staff the room was nice. Some lights in the room didn’t work and the shower was slow to drain. Other than that, really happy with the hotel.
