Very Good

The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful; they made the stay special. The views from the restaurant were wonderful; the food was very good with a good choice each evening and it tasted very nice. The disappointing part was the lack of servicing in the room. At check in we were asked if we needed new towels or the room cleaned each day and we said that it wouldn’t be necessary. However we did expect that the tea and coffee would be replenished each day and also that the bed would be made for us; neither of these things happened. If we don’t get these basic services then we should be offered a reduction in the rate for those nights. I don’t mind paying for service but I object to paying for a non- service.
The experience was amazing from start to finish. Easy check in on line, met by very friendly and helpful staff on reception. Breakfast and evening meals were absolutely delicious.
Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel a little tired although clean and staff very attentive.
Great views across Chesil Beach from the restaurant, lacking in a comfortable seating area around the bar. Food was a tad lacking and evening meal pretty pricey for an average meal.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
A very dated property. The view from the breakfast room is amazing and staff is very friendly. But the corridors feel like a hospital and the rooms might have been nice 30 years ago. For the rather high price point, this was sadly disappointing.
It was ok room was a bit dated and dark needed to have tge light on most of the time was woken upp by the heating coming on the pipes were banging. Bathroom was nice Good shower.
Was told breakfast was open til 11am for the bank holiday. This was incorrect so I never got breakfast. Hotel is nice though, great location and free parking
We always choose The Heights because, it's not only convenient but the facilities and menu are good. Also the staff are both friendly and helpful. We love the whole atmosphere.
Staff welcoming and attentive. All you can eat buffet breakfast and all other food good.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Portland Heights is a very pleasant hotel but bear if mind if you are on foot that it is not near facilities although has a bus stop opposite. The dining room and cafe have superb views and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. However the cafe and food is quite expensive. The room was pleasant although a little dated however I was surprised to be informed that servicing of the rooms only take place once every three days.
We were welcomed by zoe on reception who was friendly and engaging.
Quicky given our room key and went to our room.
The decor is a little dated but the room was spacious and warm. The bed was huge and comfy so what more could you ask for.
We had breakfast which was buffet style and eat as much as you wanted.
The best thing about this hotel has to be the view over Chesil beach which is amazing.
We would have no hesitation staying again.
This is my second stay at the Heights as we have family who live in Southwell who we were visiting over Christmas. We enjoyed yet another great stay, the service was really good, the breakfast was amazing and we had a room on the ground floor which was really comfortable..the only complaint we had was that we couldnt turn down the heating in the bathroom but we did mention this to reception when we left. Overall another great stay!
