The staff at the Portland DoubleTree are absolutely fantastic: friendly, attentive, and helpful. I was there due to an apartment flood and everyone was so empathetic and helped me navigate needing to extend due to unexpected delays in repair. At the end of my stay everyone knew my name and situation and would greet me and check in on me. The only problem is my room was not very clean: the curtains had large stains, there were stains on the walls (I assume food?) the duvet had an old large yellow stain, the sheets had a few holes, the cord on the phone had some old greasy food on it (I hope it was food). The shampoo and soap bottles had fallen off the shower wall (the adhesive had failed) and were on the shower floor when I arrived. The rest of the place was clean (such as the pool). I was too exhausted to care about the room cleanliness, but it was disappointing since I consider the DoubleTree as a more luxurious hotel spot. The staff were so amazing that it really did even out that issue and I can’t be too upset!

No fridge or micro in the room… is that the norm now? Because they want you to buy their $7 water and $7 candy bar? Holes in the sheets. Bathroom fan did not work. And no body wash, I called to ask and she said shampoo is the same thing… it probably is, but not the answer I was expecting. Check-in employee was nice, yet needed a spark when talking to people. It’s just an old hotel that really needs a facelift.

My fault, I know. I should have checked the amenities before booking. No refrigerator, no microwave, no breakfast (well, they had one but it was at least $15 person), no shuttle to the airport and nowhere to sit outside to wait on Uber (since there was no shuttle).. Staff was amazing - they were outstanding.

Hello, not really good nights, The train comes and goes all the time and it's very noisy and it doesn't let us sleep. Also, the shampoo bottle, shower gel, and conditioner are empty. We had to buy some to take a shower. The shower was bit really clean ( walls).

Stay was fine, however DT seems rather cheap when they want you to pay $2 for a bottle of $.15 water after paying over $200 per night for the room. Come on now. But I still love the cookies. 🍪
