The room was clean, but the bathroom wall tiles were pretty dirty. The main thing was the smell of the room. When you first walked in it wreaked of cigarettes and smelly feet.

Excellent Value for the Price

This hotel actually looks as nice or, perhaps, nicer than the photos. It looked nice, felt clean, and was in a convenient place for our little vacation. I was surprised to find that there was even a mattress protector pre-installed on the mattress. I also, really liked the little square pillows as I felt that they provided better support than some of the standard pillows you find in other hotels. The staff was always cordial. Overall I'd consider it a good value for the price. The only real complaint I have is that there are no King James Bibles in the nightstands (at least not in our room).

We had a wonderful stay in the Clarion Hotel, Portland. The only negative was that they had no coffee available except for the poor quality coffee available in the room, or for purchase in the breakfast area. I would have expected a breakfast buffet with coffee as part of our room charge, but that was not the case. Otherwise, it was a great hotel and staff.
