The stay at Melanesian was average this time around. There was issues with bed bugs in my room. The hotel staff changed my room however the new room's air condition was not working. I was then shifted to another room. The extension to the reception was down for almost 4 days during my stay.

Reception was lovely, check in not till 3pm we arrived at 2pm. So went up to the pool to have a drink relax and wait. Wait is what happens there, no acknowledgement from bar staff when standing at the bar. Didnt know what a vodka lime and soda was. Everything there was slow on oth occasions at the bar.

OK for an overnight stay

Allocated wrong type of room at check in, took two hours to sort out which included participation from ourselves. Breakfast was included but if you wanted eggs you had tp pay extra. Pool, fair size but no sun loungers as in picture, only tables/chairs from Oasis Restaurant! Wifi included but you had to collect a new log in code EVERY morning from reception! Check out time was 10.00am, the exact time that breakfast service ends. Tours were very expensive, half day 8000 vt, whole day 14,800 vt Location was good for an easy walk into town centre.

Environmentally conscious so beddings and towels are only changed on request. Room cleaning not done daily means used cups and teaspoons must be washed by the guest before re-use, but dishing washing liquid and a sponge are not provided. When washing hands, water splashes out of the basin and onto the bench which is quite irritating.
