This is a hotel that was built over a hundred years ago, but whoever decorated it was clueless and had no taste. It was decorated with period looking correct furniture, but everything else was cheesy. The bed was the absolute worst I have ever slept on, and gave us terrible back pain. You would think with what they are charging, that they would at least invest in a decent mattress. Words cant convey how terrible the mattress was! Then there was the email I received from property management two days prior to checkin, informing me that the building doesnt have an elevator (stairs only), and all of its rooms do not have HVAC heating or cooling, but they had fans. The fan was a $20 noisy box fan from walmart - not even a ceiling fan! This info should be in the main listing, so you know this before booking. We had already left and were on our vacation with three luggage bags, so the night before, I had to re-organize all our bags so we only had to take one bag up. There are other nicer hotels to stay in over this place.

A wonderfully curated 1890s property, right in the middle of things. No elevator but a grand staircase to get you up to your room.

We enjoyed our stay at the Palace Hotel. Can't beat the very walkable location, free parking, the Victorian decor and the hotel's place in Pt history (ask the front desk for the history sheet). One warning: Bring your earplugs. We were located in a front room and the windows did little to block the noise from Water Street. Very quiet at night, but the early morning sounds featured trucks backing up, foghorns and screaming seagulls.

Wonderful Victorian era hotel. Friendly and efficient staff, Perfect room in a beautiful hotel. Stayed in different rooms over several days. All were great. Kudo's to hotel staff, Michael, Jan Marie, and everyone we met.

The property has great character. Old motif. You'll need to walk stairs... little alcoves and hideaways add to the charm. No AC or elevators. A bit of a challenge for us older types. We loved it, however.

Location is good, walk distance to the beach, restaurants and stores, the staffs are very friendly and helpful! Room is spacious and has everything we need. The building is old but beautiful. However it might be little bit harder to carry the luggage since it has no elevator.

Unique vintage hotel. Very clean and quiet. Liked the updated room. Bathroom/kitchen facilities were excellent. Water pressure amazing. Linens lovely. Bed frame noisy - needs changing/fixing. Mattress itself was okay, but could use an update as well. Overall we enjoyed our quiet stay in this historical town. Thank you!

The Palace Hotel is a beautiful older building from it looks like tour of the century. The property has been very tastefully, either restored or kept up. It's hard to tell which, and it is filled with antiques and really cool things from a time long gone. The only issue people might be concerned with is there does not appear to be an elevator, So if that's an issue, it's something to consider. Other than that, the hotel is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are huge and it is exactly the kind of experience that modern hotels lack.
