The property is gorgeous. It reminds me of a more modern Taj Mahal. It is licated in a VERY safe and upscale closed condominium with many other hotels and upscale homes. It is also only 1 hr from Cancun and 1 hr from Tulum. I recommend renting a car so you can visit these other locations. The hotel has somwthing for everyone. Fun events for young crowds, but also families, for partying guests, to more quiet ones. The lobby is impressive but they should invest in aromas to greet you rather than a slightly musty smell. The layout of the hotel and the rooms is wonderful and inviting. The quality of the food was not great, especially, the buffet with quantity but not great quality....much of the cooked food looked uninviting and as if it had sat there for hours which was steange as it was a busy buffet. You do get several options for restaurants on the property (Buffet, Italian, French, Japanese, Mexican, Steakhouse). You also can visit some of ots close by sister hotels. We were 2 afult women and loved sraying here.

Chek in time was at 3pm we didn’t get a room to 5pm we arrived in hotel at 12 they told us they gonna let us in around 2:30 When we come to ask for room they tell us room is not ready they cleaning We was extremely tired we had long flight And our room supposed to be pool view they give us room with no views at all We had views on back of hotel some really bad views Food was horrible we never experienced that and expect from Riu We constantly ordered food from outside resort bcs taste was so bad we purchased all inclusive packages but we really didn’t get any of that bcs of food taste and quality resorts like Riu should have better food choices and quality Two days was raining so bad resorts was so bad. No activities no music nothing was very depressing We were literally forced to lock ourselves in the room and do nothing Ppl on reception didn’t even answer the phone for 3 days I try to get extra blanket bcs we were so cold they never bring it When was our time to check out we asked to chek out at 1pm instead of 12 they say ok no problem But at 12 they start to knock on doors and 3 ppl show up and said we have to leave and they have to clean the room they have guests coming we told them that we spoke with front desk and they know that we are going to stay extra 30 min later they come again and say that we have to leave 12:45 we were out of the room We go on front desk to check out They tell us 400$ pesos we have to pay bcs we stay extra

This hotel is exactly as it’s called. It’s a palace in my opinion the nicest hotel in Mexico. The staff was extremely friendly willing to help attentive and everyone spoke English… The grounds themselves were clean. Bathrooms were clean… Many options on dining that there are different restaurants that you can go to and not just eat the buffet…… The buffet for breakfast and lunch was OK a lot of options to choose from… We’ll definitely stay here again

The hotel, beach, and grounds were beautiful. The rooms were nice and spacious. The food was mediocre at best, the buffet was better than the restaurants!! Beer, wine and liquor choices were poor. Cocktails were limited. We took shots of Patron Silver one night, which I drink at home, it was not Patron Silver! The bar tenders and servers were generally attentive if you tipped them. Entertainment was ok. Overall it was an ok experience.
