Hotel XCaret was amazing! Beautiful beyond words, lots of great restaurants to choose from. Friendly and helpful staff. Loved our room and it included all the parks where we had amazing adventures. We will definitely be repeat visitors!

This is our second time at this hotel. Last year we rated it 5 stars. This year there were just a ton of small things that made this experience not feel like a luxury hotel. From staff that was rude, to terrible housekeeping. Food quality dropped substantially. Last year they heated the kids pool, this year they didn't and the weather was chilly. Just overall it was a big disappointment. Hope they can bring back the quality we experienced in 2024.

We stayed here one day, we arrived on a Sunday. Unfortunately we were not informed until our arrival that the only park open was Xcaret park. Our bad experience was with the jacuzzi. We followed directions on how far up to fill and all was fine, but when I excited after maybe 30min of using it. The entire floor from jacuzzi area, sink, closet, shower, and under both beds was full of water. We quickly called the front desk to let them know. They did not seemed surprised. We were very concerned as we left cell phone charges plugged in and if they had been touching the water, I would have been electrocuted. They sent someone to check on jacuzzi, and cleaning services do dry the floor and leave clean towels. Employees said this is something that happens often. That the cleaning crew always complains that they have to drain the tub slowly or it overflows through a drain they have under the sink. They said the drains are just too small to deal with that amount of water. This is a safety issue and it seems they don’t take it seriously and probably won’t until a tragedy happens. As expensive as this hotel is, they should have the funds to remove jacuzzis from rooms so no one else can use them since their drainage system is not at capacity for them to be used and drained properly.

We chose this hotel based on its reputation, but unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Food Safety Issues: Our entire family suffered from food poisoning during our stay. My wife fell ill after dining at Las Cuevas, bedridden for two days, and shortly after, our 5-year-old and 1-year-old also became sick with vomiting and diarrhea. Witnessing a staff member handle raw steak and octopus with bare hands, then touch the steak again before serving it, was shocking and raised serious food hygiene concerns. Terrible Concierge Service: When my 1-year-old needed diapers due to diarrhea, I requested assistance from the concierge. Despite repeated visits and promises, diapers were not delivered for two days, and I was asked for more money each time. One staff member even suggested I take a taxi to buy them myself, which was highly inconsiderate. Eventually, after escalating the issue to managers, I received the diapers within 20 minutes, raising questions about why they weren’t provided earlier. Overall Impact: Our vacation was ruined as we were confined to the hotel, exhausted from sleepless nights with sick children. The lack of food safety and the concierge’s handling of our situation left a lasting negative impression. I would not recommend this hotel until they address their food safety standards and train their staff to handle guest concerns with empathy and professionalism.

The views of the landscape was beautiful. The food was good. Some bars had great service ( the one at the sushi restaurant was excellent and the bar at the Mexican restaurant ( not buffet ) was excellent. The food at the Mexican restaurant was excellent. The coffee bar didn’t open until 7am which was disappointing for early morning people. We originally booked this trip so we could go to xavage park but once we got there and tried to reserve our tickets they told us the park is closed. They are revamping the park. This was not posted on their website or Expedia website. ALL parks means ALL parks and it wasn’t. Then there is one restaurant at the resort that has a dinner show but when we reserved that restaurant it was booked all week long. Which is ridiculous because we just arrived. Then after sleeping in the bed our first night we discovered the sheets were dirty. We didn’t inspect the bed before getting in. And our air conditioning didn’t work the whole week we were there. Every day someone came into the room saying it was fixed and every night was a sweaty night 76 degrees in the room. Finally the last night they truly fixed the air. Then we arrived to our room after being gone all day at a park and found dirty water all over the toilet area and the electrical panel was not on the wall. So once again we had to contact front desk. Another disappointment was they did not have a mini bar in the room. You had to physically walk to a bar to get a drink in your room.

The resort was beautiful, very clean, food and drinks were top notch. Easy transportation to the parks, beds were very clean and comfortable. A/C worked great. The only thing I disliked was that you don't get easy access to all the parks, some parks such as "Xochimilco" need a prior reservation. Mind you that I stayed 3 nights and I was not able to get into the venue because it was fully booked. When going to the services desk to inquire about availability, they kept stating that nothing was available but if I became a member to their vacation club I could always have access to al the parks. I did not appreciate being pushed to become a member every single day of my stay.

I chose this to have the all inclusive fun and be able to go to the parks. The resort had so many lagoons and rivers to swim in that we never made it to the parks. The parks are fun. We've been to them. We did have an a/c issue that they worked on and they accommodated is and is because of it.

DO NOT BOOK THRU EXPEDIA. This was a fantastic resort….beautiful location, excellent service, great food. and fun things to do that were all included in the rate. Writing this review and giving it one star however as a warning to others. I booked thru Expedia and clearly indicated I was an adult bringing 2 minors. As Expedia even forces you to input the children’s ages when booking I did this and specified they were 14 and 17. I expected to pay ~4k for the stay - which is a lot for me - but I wanted to treat my family so I budgeted for it. When I arrived I was told that the rate I paid thru Expedia was incorrect as it would only apply if the minors were babies (i.e. not eating the all inclusive food or enjoying the all inclusive activities). I had to pay the difference at check in and ended up paying twice what I budgeted - over ~9 k total. Am now unexpectedly in debt and of course Expedia takes no responsibility for misleading me and making the rate error. Watch out.
