We had the Signature Casita King Suite which was perfect for what we needed, but when checking in our room wasn't ready. They told us it would only be 30 minutes, but it took well over 3 hours. We were traveling with a 6 year old and a 4 year old so of course all they wanted to do was go to the beach or pools. We were told we can use the lobby bathrooms to unpack all of our bags and change which of course was not ideal. They said for the delay they would not charge us for any of our meals or drinks that day (we did not do the all inclusive package). They promised it would already be taken off the bill. Of course, during check out there was not a note about this in our file so they tried to charge us for our lunch and dinner. They finally took care of it. Talking about the food now - it was all mediocre at best. Everyone we talked to at the pool or beach was complaining about the food. I think when there's a "5 Star" resort you're just expecting more elevated dishes. The poolside menus were very generic and tasted like cruise ship food (which I've never been on a cruise before but it's what I would imagine cruise food would be like). The grounds are beautiful and everyone is so nice though! I think they really just need to work on their food.

We had a phenomenal experience at Fairmont Mayakoba. We enjoyed everything about the stay including the golf, spa, pool/beach relaxation, variety of dinner options amongst the Fairmont, Banyon Tree and Rosewood, plus the Mayakoba Experiences that allowed us to take a top-notch private tour to Chichen Itza and a cenote. The facilities and service were among some of the best experiences that we have ever had. I would highly recommend this vacation and stay to anyone.

We greatly enjoy the Fairmont Mayakoba and have been going for many years. Having said that, there is room for improvement: - the bicycles are fewer than in previous years and in very poor condition. They require on-going maintenance or overall replacement. - a la carte prices are very expensive and boring on silly now. 660 pesos for a Latina burger is way overpriced - all inclusive buffet is not available at la Brisas. This is limiting and I would reconsider this as an option as there is no flexibility on location. Otherwise great resort and we will be back.

The outdoor shower in the Casitas was our favourite after a long winter in Toronto. All the food is great. Make reservations for dinner as places can fill up even when the hotel doesnt seem too full.

This is a wonderful place. But not perfect. Fairmont Mayakoba is not a value proposition. The one star deduction is for the ridiculous prices in the restaurants. The most expensive and the biggest disappointment is the steak house Tauro. Very mediocre food paired with laughable prices. Overall, wonderful place on most aspects. Just plan strategically.

The staff is nice and do the best they can, but they are grossly understaffed for a resort of this size. We went to a wedding there for a weekend, and the logistics were pretty bad all around. Food, service and the golf carta to get around took way too long. The food was not good at all. Mexico has amazing food, this was very disappointing. Especially considering how expensive the hotel is. I would not stay here again based only on those two issues.

It was our second time staying at the hotel, 10 years apart. We had an amazing time with our children. The hotel has a beautiful beach, pools , food and activities to do with children.

We will be back. I love how the Casitas allow you to feel immersed into nature. Wonderful service, food, amenities, and atmosphere. La Laguna for dinner by the dock watching catfish and turtles swim up was a culinary highlight. The only challenges (minor): getting restaurant reservations. However, we found by showing up at 6pm we would often be able to sneak in as the resort only allows a 10 min grace period for bookings. 9.5/10 overall

We didnā€™t want to leave! Went for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday and left tanned and happy. The property is gorgeous, spacious and well taken care of. Mayocoba is a tropical oasis. We didnā€™t partake in the all-inclusive however if you are there to party it might be a good idea. Canā€™t wait to go back.

Beautiful property but massive and requires shuttling around, which may be fine but the shuttles were inconsistent and sometimes required long waits. The service was shockingly underwhelming and frustrating for a 5 star hotel. The food was okay but not great, and very overpriced for what it was. The beach was great and plenty of shade and loungers available. The whole experience was just inconsistent. We will not be returning.

Just returned home from Mayakoba and we absolutely loved it! The property is beautiful and the rooftop bar looking over the ocean was our favourite! Arrive at 6 pm for a complimentary mixology class and then sip your cocktail while enjoying the stunning sunset. We also loved our complimentary river cruise throughout Mayakoba. In my opinion, The Fairmont is the most beautiful of the four hotels. We didn't have a problem finding loungers throughout the day by the pools or beach. They don't allow you to reserve them, so there's always options. The restaurants were delicious, we loved them all. And the staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend The Fairmont Mayakoba if you're looking for quiet luxury in Mexico.
