It was alright. Easy check-in and we got there early and they were able to accommodate us. The room was basic, which was fine, Except the air conditioner wouldn’t cool down the room. We had it on 60 and the fan on high and felt a little air coming out but did not cool the room off. We did not say anything because it would have been an inconvenience at 11:30 at night.

Great location close to many walkable shops and restaurants. Or catching a game or event at PPG. Staff are fantastic and helpful. Restaurant onsite is helpful along with the Starbucks. Rooms are spacious, clean, convenient and quiet. Fantastic place to stay.

The property itself was nice, clean, comfortable, and very convenient. My friends and I were going to see the Tyler the Creator concert, so it was super convenient to be across the street from the venue, but unfortunately, that's also what made this experience bad. This review would have been 5 stars, but after the concert, the elevators were full, so you had to wait in line for a long time, and we were on the 15th floor. When we tried to use the stairs that staff recommended (2 different staff 2 different times in 2 different stairwells), the doors were locked in the stairwells BOTH times, and they didn't even access the upper floors. Imagine our exhaustion after climbing 10 flights of stairs twice just for the door to be locked and for the stairs to not even reach our floor, so we had to climb back down. The choice eventually was to either wait an absurd amount of time for the elevator or just leave and come back. Also, one of the elevators stopped working during this ordeal after we finally got on one. This is really dangerous and frustrating because you genuinely cannot gain access to your room, and even if you did and tried to go back down, it takes an absurd amount of time for the elevator to arrive. This issue continued even into the next morning when people began to leave, and the elevator wait time to get down and upstairs was still about 10 minutes. Overall, it was a great place to stay in all the other aspects, but the elevator situation was terribly inconvenient.

We attended a concert across the street from the hotel which was great. Using the elevator was a gorrible experience. The crowd was humongous and did not go well. With that being said..it was a big concert. Breakfast was amazing.

Classy hotel. Got a good rate. Only concern was the elevators were slow because of the college basketball teams and fans that were staying there.

It’s okay.

The parking was a little confusing they had a sign up saying valet only and the garage was full. We had to circle around and wait until we could ask someone where we could park. The lady at the front desk was super nice. Room was clean overall, shower had hair on the wall and outside by the sink looked to be a few blood smears on the wall. Bathroom had a constant sewage smell as well. I don’t think I would stay there again but if you’re looking for a hotel to stay at for the Pens game, this would be the best option. Right next door and an easy walk to the arena.

Convenient to PPG

The hotel is very convenient to PPG. The bar and restaurant are convenient as well. We've been going to this hotel for years and we've noticed a slight decline in services over the past few years.

old building without upgrades. No hot water in the mornings and intermittent the rest of the time. Outside of an arena next door the surrounding area held no value, actually could be a little scary walking around.

I would not suggest booking here. Our flight was delayed so I emailed the property to let them know it would be almost midnight when we arrived. We ended up further delayed and wouldn’t be in until the next morning. I again emailed with an update that it out be about 9:30 in the morning the next day before we got in, but we would want to check into our room then. I was still worried so at 1:21in the morning I called the hotel and spoke to a person. They said they’d received my email and it was no problem. They also told me that we’d still have to pay for the room that night. When we arrived the next morning at 10:30 we were told there was no king size room for us. At this point we’d been travelling for 24 hours and wanted to freshen up for a hockey game we were going to in an hour. I asked how this happened as we paid for the room the night before…it was our room. I asked for a manager and got an extremely unhelpful blond woman. I showed her proof on my phone that I’d called to update them…along with 2 emails (that are saved on Expedia). She said too bad, we don’t have a room. They put us in a double room until they got a room for us and this room had half a tub full of water when we got to it as it had a steady leak. Because we’d booked through Expedia they washed their hands of us. They should not sell rooms through Expedia if they are going to treat people this way. I would never suggest this hotel to anyone. Very disappointing as we usually love Mariott’s.
