Weekend in Pittsburgh

This hotel was in a great location, close to the baseball and football stadium, restaurants, and more, and included convenient parking. It had a great, free breakfast with many options each day. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!

While I understand that ā€œExpedia overbooked your 2 queen suite room-type selectionā€, when you check in at 2:30pm, that room type is def. still available. And ā€œa king and sofa pullout is still two bedsā€ is not a viable answer or option for two people not in a relationship. WTH? Why did I have to get upset to get what I paid for? Poor attitude. Not returning. Hyatt Place is always going to be a better choice.

I love staying in this hotel anytime I come to Pittsburgh. Itā€™s affordable and the rooms are great and the staff is fantastic. Theyā€™re always friendly and help you with whatever you need. I was originally on a higher floor and the highway traffic noise was ridiculously loud. It sounded like a window was open and I was on the highway at night time. It was awful. The next day the front desk staff had no problem changing me to a room on a lower floor and the noise was much better, a whole lot quieter. They also had no problem helping me extend my stay for a night, keeping me in the same room, & giving me late checkout for the last day. The hotel is clean for the most part, I found that there was always something on the floor in the breakfast area/right in front of the elevators, but there were a lot of kids there when I was there so Iā€™ll chalk that up to them. The gym is horrible. Thereā€™s 3 pieces of equipment and a couple dumbbells. I was able to get on the treadmill the first night I was there & then next day I tried walking again & the treadmill wasnā€™t working. So we went to the front desk & they said there was supposed to be an ā€œout of orderā€ sign on it. The whole rest of my stay the treadmill was never worked on so I wasnā€™t able to get back on it & the other 2 machines they have didnā€™t work either. There was a spin bike that wouldnā€™t turn on and an elliptical that wouldnā€™t turn on. So the gym is a huge let down, that needs to be fixed ASAP. Otherwise itā€™s a great hotel!

The lady at the front desk was awful and extremely rude. I canā€™t believe this is how people are greeted when arriving. The hotel is very clean and convenient, but not worth the treatment when being checked in. Will NOT be back again for this reason.

Great Hotel, sketchy parking

Staff--great! Breakfast--standard hot breakfast, choices of hot eggs, meats, breads, yummy pastries, tea and coffee, good oatmeal. Room--roomy and comfortable. Heater was quiet, beds were comfy. Window shade didn't open, which was disappointing. Great lighting choices, lots of outlets. Parking was $28/night if one hadn't purchased the "parking package" on the app. Lot was down the block (30? feet and around the corner from hotel entrance.) My van locks are broken and it was trashed the first night. They only got a little bit of cash, and a blanket. (I didn't mind the blanket because it was below zero that week.) Not the hotel's fault, bc broken locks. But it made me a little nervous coming back at night and walking from the lot to the front of the hotel. Definitely lock up and don't leave anything in your car if you're parking here.

Holiday Inn Express is my favorite hotel now. The one on the North Shore and Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. It's a very common case full place.I would recommend it leave it up to me Holiday inn Express gets ten stars

Kitchen staff yelled at me the first day for not using a set of tongs to get an individually wrapped muffin. Had I seen the tongs, I would have used them. Secondly, the man on duty the day we were arriving was terrible at giving directions. We drove around quite a bit before finding the parking lot. Thirdly, there were only 2 sets of linens in the room in spite of the fact the room was reserved for 3 people. Lastly, the parking area was dark with broken concrete. The fact that the hotel charged for parking is absolutely outrageous!
