I had driven in with my university student on a trip that was now its 3rd day of 11-13 hours a day to get to AZ. Got to the La Quinta and they refused to take cash (even though no one else was in the lobby). I felt like a lepper the way the desk person spoke to me and nothing about this had been comminicated to me in advance, via my bookings. So I had to just call from hotel to hotel, since Hotels.com wouldn't pick up. I found this hotel, Country Inn & Suites on E Unversity Dr. They take MONEY-what do you know!! So we canceled with the rude one and popped over. Bianca and Wendy helped us prepare by phone and Bianca helped us as check in. Both ladies were SO WELCOMING, I instantly felt the stress melt off. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the pillows were full size (not those odd half-pillows some hotels are doing), and the bathroom had a lovely blue tile to match the blue paint job on the outside, and the bedroom was a lovely blue theme as well with hardwood linoleum. Eco friendly hair wash product. Sheets and blanket were incredibly soft and comfy. The shower worked great and the hot water was very responsive. It was easy to get back into traffic from the hotel parking and the area felt safe. I only suggest vaccuming the hall near the side exits (this was a 2 night stay and it needed it throughout) and checking for missing tile in the bathroom behind the door near the tub. I believe this hotel is wrapping up a renovation, but seems mostly done. Stay here!

The room & property were very clean, quiet and felt safe. The hot breakfast was very good. The only issue I had was the shower curtain was too short, and water leaked all over the bathroom floor. I had to lay down most of the bath towels to clean it up. I just wanted to bring this to the hotel's attention as this is a safety risk and can be a huge liability if someone were to slip and fall and injure themselves badly.

This hotel is under construction. Avoid at all costs. Hotel staff completely unhelpful. I stayed 2 nights out of 23 booked, and with no where to move me away from the construction, they still refused to refund unused nights. This is a trash hotel and management.

Vanessa on the morning shift was especially accommodating when I arrived extra early. She was really wonderful and helpful. Then Kayla on the night shift the next morning was again very helpful in getting me to the airport. I don't think I've ever stayed at a place with better staff.

Long stray hairs on the bed comforter and tiny hairs all over the sheets. Switched rooms to a cleaner room but it had a very strong smell to it that wasn’t pleasant. Luckily we were only there for one night. Ladies at the desk were nice and the breakfast was decent

The staff was very nice and helpful. The air conditioning is very inadequate. Arizona weather is very hot during August, so being in a room with no cold A/C is extremely uncomfortable. The breakfast was very delicious. My biggest complaint is the lack of cold A/C in the rooms. Overall not a terrible stay.
