The Sofitel in Philadelphia is a welcoming and warm soft landing for those wanting a mini “sabbatical” away from their every day lives. The staff, rooms, food, location are all exceptional and exude an elegant but unfussy level of sophistication that makes you feel right at home and superbly spoiled. One of the highlights of my trip was the incredible food. The dishes are prepared with an imaginative take that leads the palette on a mystery tour of flavorful and French inspired delicious delights. There is a very well priced happy hour that is worth trying at least once for pre-dinner drinks and appetizers. Meeting the new head chef was also one of the highlights of my stay. I will look forward to future visits.

Very beautiful hotel. Friendly staff, great location. The food was great, however wish breakfast included cook-to-order options. There was only buffet food and I was really hoping to get an omelet haha. Enjoyed my stay and would stay there again. Note, everything already has gratuity included and they don’t really make it clear. I was double tipping on everything until I realized at the end of my stay gratuity was already added.

The woman working the front desk was visibly very sick, coughing and blowing her nose. Never once saw her wash her hands or use sanitizer. She was even more sick the second day. Do not allow your employees to come in sick! Especially those at. The front desk.

The room was very dirty (hairs all over the bathroom, visible dust and dirt around the room). The beds were so lumpy and uncomfortable, neither my partner nor I slept. In addition to being dirty, the bathroom was dated and dingy and had visible signs of water damage and mold. We booked the hotel for 2 nights for a staycation and left after one night because we were so bummed out by the experience. This was not at all a 4 star hotel experience.
